My niece brought me 2 roses today for a favor I had done for her. I got "Intrigue" and one called "Jolie" from ther Kordes "Veranda" series.
Anyone have any of these "Veranda" roses ? This one is sort of a coral-pink and supposedly only gets 24" tall. Slight fragrance, but the plant is perfectly shaped and very healthy.
Can't find my camera at tyhe moment but will take pics. when I do.

JD, I love the Veranda series. They're also known as the Flower Circus series, and I think that's how most of them are listed in our database. Here are the ones we have:

Jolie isn't in there. I'll have to add it.

They are short, but they produce more blooms than most roses that are larger.

The Veranda series grows wonderfully here in Kansas. Perfectly shaped, very healthy and 24" tall is exactly how I would describe mine too. I've actually bought 2 of the same because of the double names. Jackson Perkins had them as Flower Circus when I bought the first ones. (oops maybe it was Wayside or Park?)
They kind of look like a miniature Austin, or Romantica. Loads of petals, loads of blooms. My first one was Salmon Flower Circus, I think. The white one actually stays white even in heat and rain.
If I could find them at a good price, I wouldn't mind using them to line a walkway. They stay that nice and even.
Mike, your niece did good!
Hurray!
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.

I have the Briliant Veranda.. that's the only one I've ever seen. Love love love that rose!! Mine grows like a weed every year.. which is good 'cuz it dies to the ground with winterkill every year. I got it through Palatine a few years ago. Mine stays about 2' tall and isn't leggy, but also isn't bushy. Very much like a florist rose (I think) with long canes suitable for cutting.. but no scent on mine.
Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet...
