Here is a Lola Branham kid I saw ( and purchased) today. O'Bannon Springs daylilies is on a hilltop with a decent breeze. This stood well and swayed gently on a rather windy day (storm front moving in). Plus I loved the reverse bitone and vein look to petals which was consistent on all open blooms

Love what you teach and teach what you love!

I tried Char's trick for a leaning scape thus year... Works like a charm! I had one "leaner" at the edge of a bed and I didn't want to get purple spent bloom slimed every time I walked in the narrow path, so tried this trick...
(almost 5 foot scape on seedling blooming the first year ... It better stand up when there is more than one fan or it meets the compost pile! )
@Char thanks for this easy tip!

Thanks for the picture and info, Lisa. O'Bannon Orchid is now on my want list for next year!
Juli, thanks for the tip on using a leaf from the same plant for securing a badly leaning scape. I will be trying that out in the morning on two problem plants (not related to Lola).

I use Char's trick but mostly I use bamboo canes with ties for support. The canes can look quite elegant. I can get strong coastal winds here and spiders can need the support.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.
