Catmint20906 said:hi, JB. I don't recall asking anyone to take anything to the Sandbox forum! Smiling Of course our primary reason for being here is our shared love for plants and all things related to plants. But there are a lot of things that impact our lives and thus our ability to be out there in the garden. As a regional forum, I think we have the opportunity here to talk about those things. Smiling Please don't be quiet or 'go back to your box' (?)--we enjoy hearing from you! No ill feelings or arguing that I'm aware of! Group hug

Cat...you never did ask anyone....it was in another forum, really do not know which one so I can not be more specific. I was assuming again, that was more or less the procedure on all the forums. I have been here for a long time but I am still learning. I am having a difficult time not being on the defensive here on this one. Not used to that. I will try to be more specific from now on. Hi, JB. The intent of my response was that, as far as I'm concerned as Forum Moderator, it's okay for members to talk about a variety of things on this forum! Smiling

@Roses_R_Red, I am just laughing at your comment -- maybe we should rename this thread The Wrong Thread!

Hilarious!

Are you going to be doing the piggy swap? Gosh, I guess I'ma have to, since it's the Big Thing coming up. And, yanno, seeds and stuff.

@JB, are you doing the swap?

LOL Roses! Smiling Do you want to copy and paste your post into another thread? It looks like it's full of goodies for us to talk about! Smiling

Kyla, I do not swap because I do not have the space for any more variety. I would love to get rid of some of my things but am so limited in what I will take in return, it makes it difficult. Besides, most of the swaps I assumed (again) were for garden variety plants and I have none of those to swap. <big sigh> I want an icon for a big sigh.

I'm not sure about the piggy swap. I'll try to follow the rules but I think I have ADD when it comes to that. Cat, are you, as moderator, able to copy and paste my comments where you think they belong??

hey, Roses. It's super easy--just copy and paste into eg Garden Chat & Photos. I can do it for you if you'd like--but then it will show up as my post instead of as yours! Whistling

I am here watching and reading what everyone is doing. I still have plants blooming. But I know after this weekend it will probably be all gone. We here in NJ will be getting a frost Sunday night. I have brought in the tropical s,. Still need to bring in the cast Iron plant. Dug some bulbs, but Monday will be the day I think to get the rest I want to save. I even have a Clematis blooming., roses, phlox, and many more. This cold snap coming in will be a shock to them.

Hi, Marie, welcome!

All that still blooming, wow. Well, it's about that way here too; there are two buds on one of the roses that I hope will manage to open before a freeze, and two much smaller ones I know will not.

We're forecast to get down into the high 30s Sunday night but I doubt it will actually go to freezing. Still, it's going to have an effect.

Welcome! Marie! Great to see you here! :-)

Yes, this seems like the last weekend before a lot of the tender perennials and annuals go. Sad

Hi, Marie. I'm originally from NJ but moved to PA after retiring. From your zone, I'm thinking that you might live close to my daughter in Audubon, NJ. Zone 7a seems to be the perfect one to live in. Warm enough for plants that need heat and a longer growing season and cold enough winters to have tulips and lilies grow.

Hi Marie.... Welcome! Welcome! I am here in NJ and I am holding my breath considering the cold spell that is coming. Fortunately everything is inside, but now I worry about the heat in the greenhouse being adequate on a low setting. You just never know what the heck this weather is going to do. All is well just now but who knows what is coming tomorrow.
Great to see you here on the thread. Keep on posting. We need all the help we can get.... Rolling on the floor laughing Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

That was my goal to make it look tropical. I went to Cancun 3 times, but knew once I bought a house and got married I probably would not make it back. Now I just need my waitress to bring me drinks while I am sitting by the pool...lol
