You grow so many that I can't grow here. I've probably killed 5 Blue Girls in the last 10 years.
Are the colors getting more intense with the cooler nights? Can you press the blossoms? I'm hoping we have an extended fall so I do get another full flush. Many of mine are growing new leaves to replace the ones the grasshoppers devoured. I'm thinking I may gamble and feed them this week. They need food, but we could have frosts as early as late October.

Cindi - I think it's the wind that's killing yours. I've noticed that the BGs I have in a windier part of my yard don't do as well as the ones that are more protected. And yes, they're definitely a LOT darker right now. I may take pictures tonight.. some roses are finally blossoming for the first time this season (my last Sterling Silver). We're expecting snow next week (yay ) and we usually have a good frost in the middle of Sept, so things there are running about the right time. But the geese are running REALLY late this year. Usually start seeing them in late July and they just started coming through like 2 weeks ago? But I've noticed that the deer are having a thicker coat, so maybe we'll have a snowy winter? That would be good.. snow = cold protection But I'm hoping that next spring won't be so late. Everyone was so stunted this year. Even my Purple Splash, which got to be over 6' last year, only hit about 3.5' this year. And I've lost my Mardi Gras.. it's buried in the beebalm & I gotta dig him out!

Preparing for the cold & snow tonight/tomorrow... ugh. And black spot! Black spot black spot everywhere! Yuck! I didn't spray for black spot.. I never spray because I never get it! But I got it now! Oh well, matters not as winter's just around the corner. But some last of the season pictures before everyone croaks for the year.

Wow Wow Wow that's an incredible rose garden! I am jealous. You are working full time and you have time to nurture all those roses? THey really look good.
Mine are so sad looking I don't even go check on them unless they are right by the house.
Hopefully this weekend I'll spread compost around the more tender ones and feed with a light liquid fertilizer.
