Blush Flower Circus is one that I've always wanted, mainly because of Mike's photos, but Palatine hasn't carried it in the last few years.

Oh, no! They keep adding more new ones. I'm fairly certain that Sherry Parks Sunrise was not there the last time I looked. It's a real sweetie, and it probably has a habit much like that of the Flower Circus roses.

I do remember seeing it earlier, I know I looked at it because of course it's my color but it's too small for me.

It's the same size as the Flower Circus roses, and my Pompon is growing so well in a container that I think this one will too.

Why, yes, that is an excellent idea! And actually, I don't know why in my mind I thought it was much smaller, that really would be a nice front of the border plant.

Sherry Parks is listed as being a patio rose only 1.5 - 2.5 feet tall, whereas my Blush Flower Circus would routinely get to be 5 feet tall every season.

Yes I was surprised at how tall the Blush Flower Circus grew. I will need to move it!
Pompom stays small and wonderful. I could use a whole row of those!
I wasn't going to order this year, but once again, their offerings are irresistible.

You're right, Cindi, Pompon is a smaller rose. Usually about 2.5 feet tall in my garden, in full sun.

I've decided to get Sherry Parks Sunrise instead of Cream Veranda. They're the same size, but the former appeals to me more.

I'm really happy about my decision to buy a couple of these (Angel Veranda and Sherry Parks Sunrise) specifically to grow in containers. For several years I had a pretty row of small roses in containers along one side of my driveway. The roses looked quite happy, but I always felt guilty about keeping them in pots. I was so proud of myself a couple of years ago when I planted all but a few of them into the ground.

It was a bad decision. The ones that I had left in their containers continued to thrive, but almost all of the others either declined drastically or died because they couldn't compete with the larger plants for light and moisture. Now I'll repeat the procedure in reverse. I'm going to dig up the survivors and put them back in containers. I always add low-growing annuals to the pots. They're thirstier than roses and they remind me to water the containers frequently.

It'll also solve the problem of some prime real estate I can't use for anything but shallow-rooted plants now. Some spots in full sun are almost unusable because of wisteria roots and tree roots close to the surface of the soil.

Sounds like my redwood tree roots, very hard for any other plant to compete.

I see that the shipping rates have increased by $2, but that's not $2 per rose. It just means that I now pay $27.75 for the first 9 roses and $31.75 for 10-19 roses (instead of last year's $25.75 and $29.75). I still can't get over the thrill of being able to order 10 extra roses and pay only $4 more in shipping. If I added 10 roses to an order from Roses Unlimited, I'd have to pay $80 more in shipping.

I have almost finalized my order, but I want to know, Toni, whether you think I would like Quo Vadis. Your photo and Palatine's photo are striking, but Palatine's description says "fresh lemon yellow" and says nothing about the reddish-pink edges. Did all of your blooms show that edge or were some of them solid yellow? I rarely buy yellow or white roses because most of the volunteer plants in my garden are either yellow or white, and I therefore have no need to add those colors to any of the beds.

Zu - I like Quo Vadis, but I didn't see ANY yellow on mine. Of course, I've found that, most of the time with Palatine roses,... heck, ANY rose I stick in the ground, never go by the first year's blooms as, with my pathetic attempts of gardening (ie: I ignore my plants) plus my drought/drowning (we've been getting a LOT of rain as of late) are NEVER what they're supposed to look like. 2nd year, yes. 1st? Hardly ever. In fact, I even emailed Rachel one time as my Typhoon Freelander was really blooming odd and I couldn't believe that it was Typhoon. Thought it was someone else so I dug up the tag.. nope, it's Typhoon. My QV is blooming a definite pink.. but what I like about it is the edges of the blooms always seem to be .. frayed? Jagged? I need to find a bloom that's not shattered or melted (I've had some "rose melt" days) so I can take a picture of it.. but to me, they look jagged & weird. I like it. Not as scented as, say, Perfume de Grasse (now THAT is one smelly bloom!) though.

Palatine opened the site for orders last night at 11 central time, so I managed to order 7 roses. There were 5 others that I wanted, but for some odd reason, there was no "buy" button on those. I'm taking it as a sign that I don't need those roses. I still want them... trying to resist going back to the site to check. *Blush*
Did everyone else get what they wanted?
Kinda funny, the iris free-for-all was this morning. My computer is so slow that I didn't have much of a chance on that one. Still managed to get a bunch of really really nice newer iris.
Toni, I thought about emailing you a reminder! Wish I had! You can try again tonight, at 7 pm mountain time, I think.
