It is rather amusing to see the word "budget" modified by the word "gardening."

I used the two together about 25 years ago and I felt like a failure when I could not stay within those perimeters.

Today I continue working beyond retirement age for public school teachers to afford my addictions. Sooner or later, I will not be able to function due to some illness, probably dementia, and I want to enjoy my life to the fullest.

I had a scare last year, starting December 29, 2012, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. On January 2, 2013, the surgeon told me that I had a 93% chance of surviving for 5-10 years, and I replied, "Damn, I was planing to live another 30 years!"

That changed my whole life and I have found the most pleasure from my grandson, Owen, and my plants.

Im making tags today for the few plants Ive ordered. Im going to get their pots ready as well. I want to make sure they get planted and a good start towards next spring.

Pam, even if I live to the age of 90+, life will still be too short.

Got an order as well. My gift plant was Shiraz and the give away plant was Snow Crystal. They are soaking as we 'speak'.

My previous order also included Shiraz and Snow Crystal. That order had 20 plants.
I enjoy all the wine color daylilies. Private Reserve is one of my favorites.

I just checked Maryott's website, and Bill is announcing that they close at the end of this month -- and he says "Watch for our 2015 Intro's!" -- and there is a picture of a seedling that I'm assuming must be one of his 2015 intros.

Well, my whole order is sending up scapes. I always say to cut off the scape, when people ask about scapes this time of the year. I hate to say it....I cant cut them, not right now

Don't you feel like you just have to see them, to make sure they're the correct plant if not to enjoy the blooms? I don't think I could ever cut off a scape if I thought it would really bloom -- but then I live in a pretty warm climate...

I have two scapes on CHARISMATIC right now with buds, and we're leaving town on the 15th for a two-week vacation -- and I just hope I get to see even one bloom before we leave or after we return. It'll be really close...

Yea, I just cant cut them off. Ill never suggest that to anyone again, altho if they were puny plants I might think more seriously about it.

Maryott's has posted a beautiful orange patterned daylily now -- I assume one of their Spring 2015 introductions.

No, I believe it has the seedling number on the picture, and that it's going to be a 2015 intro.

I do wish for tho, some pictures that are not so close up. I get a much bette since of the plant and flower tho, if I can see it back a bit. This is one I would love to see more pictures. Looking forward to it when he post the new intros.

I like this one but I don't think I love it. I really like the pink patterned pollen parent (say that 3 times fast!) though!
