Thank you. You are wonderful.

This is one of my more interesting seedlings. (All the Magic X Seedling 2012 058). @betja Betty was interested in it last year. I am getting a better idea of it as it flowers for the second time. It is a sculpted relief that also gets sculpted cristate midribs. I have never seen more than one petal at once with cristate midribs. I am unsure this asymmetry is appealing or not. The petals also have dense tiny teeth or tentacles that can form angel's wings or owl's ears. At the moment it is a terribly slow increaser.

This is a favorite seedling I have had for many years. Bud count isn't great but I just love it and probably will always keep it.

Both of you have keepers there. Im a big yellow doubles fan anyway...add some sculpting...a winne

Im not going to have many good seedlings again until spring 2016. I planted alot this year, but a little late, so probably no new blooms. They are looking healthy tho.

I've been watching this thread for awhile and have been enjoying all the seedling pics. I can't wait for spring/summer to see mine. I'm new to daylilies having gotten my first one just a few years ago. This year, I've started from seed for the first time. My mistake was not marking them correctly. Now I don't know what I have where. Lol

I have been growing seedlings for about 6 years now, and every year I think Ive got a system that will insure me of having no more unknown x unknown. I was on such a roll this year, and about 6 weeks ago, my husband moved all the earth boxes around to pressure wash the driveway. Yep...totally mixed me up, I had to transplant those out to put the new seedlings in. So....once again I have a year of..I think its either this or that Angry

I will say this, Im still pouring out wires from pots and digging up wires. They are the only thing that seems to work the best, along with some back-up list. I didnt get any wires this year, but kinda wish I had.

Good luck, cant wait to see your pictures

This has been my favorite thread on here, it has been fun and has inspired me in my own pollen spreading. I will hopefully have my own first blooms next year, I have about a 100 seedlings planted out side in spring of 2013, most of the seeds purchased off of the LA, and I have about 50 planted this spring from my own crosses. Fingers are crossed that I may get a few as beautiful as all of you have shared here. I hope to see more pictures from you guys and gals through out the winter.

Thanks for sharing,
Gale

Gale, there are a couple of threads you might enjoy through the winter while our gardens are sleeping. Why don't you join us on some of them?
There is a thread where our Aussie friends post their blooms. Remember, their summer is our winter so we get sustenance from looking at their blooms during our winter.
The thread "The Blooming South. Season 2014-15" in Daylilies forum You don't have to read everything, just jump right in wherever you feel like it.

And then there is a chat thread on the daylily forum where we just chat about anything, gardening, recipes, TV & movies, just any old thing we happen to want to talk about.

Do you have a pet? We have a pet thread in the Sandbox:

And there is the weather thread in the daylily forum:
The thread "(closed)Weather In Your Garden - Fall 2014" in Daylilies forum

I agree on all of the above.

I love the seedling pictures as well. Its so interesting to see what things make. I hope my new seedlings have enough of a start to get thru the cold next week. I hope it doesnt freeze. I got them in late this year.

They'll be okay Pam. Remember how tough dl's are. Even if we DO get a freeze which btw, we are supposed to next week.

Ann, I have been following the southern bloom thread, as for the others, thank you for recommending them, I will take a look. By the way, my wife collects pets, we have dogs, cats, pygmy goats, mini horses, horses, some kind of a dwarf pig, and I hear, silkie chickens are coming in the spring Smiling We also are foster parents and she cares for 6 children between 9 months and 4, not to mention our own two, 5 and 6. An amazing woman.

Thanks gals,
Gale

@GDJCB

Oh then you simply must visit us on the pet thread PLEASE. With photos!!!!!! We just adore animals.

My goodness gracious. Where does your wife get all that energy???? I have tons of respect for foster parents; it's not easy. I have had numerous friends who have been foster parents. Bless you.

Just looking at this thread again. So many nice ones added in October that I missed.

Ann - I love those two with Orchid Moonrise as a parent! Especially that second one - so ethereal and dreamy!
