Here ya go, Lin! I tip my hat to you.

It must like it's new digs because it's getting 3 new base fronds...when they get a little bigger I'll post an update.

I just love it ... a perfect staghorn container! I can picture the basal fronds attaching to, and covering the fan frame. Thumbs up

Here are two of my "unknown" ferns....they look a bit rough because they were in a terrarium that they had really outgrown so I took them out about a week ago. I'm trying to grow them using Kokedama, which is a traditional Japanese art form that basically has moss used as a container for a plant... http://www.bhg.com/videos/m/67...

Here is a picture of how you can display a kokedama "garden"...

Kim, that is really cool! I'd never heard of the term Kokedama but I've tried growing a few plants in just the long fiber sphagnum ... my problem is I never remember to water enough to keep the moss consistently moist and the sphagnum dries out so fast that I couldn't keep anything alive for long.

What a great way to present hanging plants, Kim. I may just try that technique with some plants, perhaps staghorn ferns and/or bromeliads. My plants get watered so frequently, and I have so many of them, I could probably keep the sphagnum moss damp.

Ferns are all around, it seems. I had more than I imagined. Forgot all about the Resurrection Ferns until you reminded me, Lin - they are along the top surfaces of my biggest oak trees. Just coming back to life in the rain after shriveling for a few days in the heat this week. They really do look dead a lot of the time during dry weather. An interesting, if bizarre adaptation.

Elaine, the Resurrection Fern is really amazing; I forget about them during the dry season and then it seems like after a little rain ... boom, there they are again! I took this photo a couple of years ago at our little botanical gardens, they grow all over some of the big live oaks:

Wow, that is amazing, Lin. Looks like a movie set for a Jurassic Park movie or something! Must look so different when the ferns are playing dead.

I love the looks of the big oaks with the branches covered in those ferns! LOL, I never saw the Jurassic Park movie but yeah ... kinda gives a sense of being in that era.

Yes that does look very close Lin. I had not heard of Kokedama either until saw it on Pinterest.

I also have a small bromeliad done as a Kokedama, I'll have to post a picture of it. So far it's looking pretty good.

Kim, don't forget that Bromeliads don't collect much, if any, moisture or nutrients from their roots, they're mostly there just to hold the plant up. So you need to mist or sprinkle the crowns of your broms with water and a little very weak fert once in a while. Keeping the environment humid also helps them a lot.

These are two different photos of the same Resurrection Fern, photo's taken two days apart. It's been very hot and dry the past couple of days and with no rain the fern is curling up it's fronds and looking dead but as soon as we have a bit of rain it will be green and pretty again. Nature is amazing!

I love the Button Fern. Does anyone know where I can find the Lemon Button Fern variety? I think Exotic Angels has it but i haven't seen it at our Walmart. I've only found the darker color.

I garden for the pollinators.

This one doesn't say it is the Lemon but it seems to have the lighter color leaves. This site has an amazing selection of ferns, hang onto your wallet!
