I'm going to spread my $$ around, what there is of it! Not as big a budget as last year.

First, I sent off a check to Joe Ghio, that I thought might cover these:

Bowled Over
Starring
Star Appeal
Bejeweled

Then I placed an order with Iris Sisters for:

Another Woman
By Jeeves
Cameo Minx
Birthmark
Jealous Guy
Royal Sterling

That's a start!

I need to go look .... And order NOW. There are a few iris I know I want that sold out early last year. This is for those of you who don't want to order as many iris as in years past because of the cost. We have friends (husband and wife) who would save any change from daily purchases in a jar (or whatever) everyday. Every two years they saved enough money from the change they saved to pay for their entire trip to Maui. If I remember right they usually stayed about ten days. It would be interesting just to see how much it adds up to.
My curiosity is getting to me... Rob did you ever look at the the Pacific Coast Iris site?

Anyone: please tell me if you find a source for Zlatovlaska. That is one I am really looking for.
Greg: looks like you have a theme this year to your buying. Lots of bitones with dark falls in your second group. And wow, I love Red Skies!
Tom - do you have Nebraska Big Red? Does it grow well for you? Just love the deep color of it.

Holding off on even thinking about an order until what I already have blooms. Then I can see what to share with folks here, with the local community garden fund raiser, and how much room will be available afterward. Will also see how long that resolution holds... Big Grin

Yes, Leslie, I have Nebraska Big Sky. I just got it in 2013, and it had a few blooms last year. It hasn't increased enough to share yet, but in a year or so it should be.

OK, so how do you know what to order or pay when they haven't sent out their catalogs yet? Do you just give them what you want from previous catalogs, and they let you know how much? I want to see the intros first though.

Still not sure how you actually order from Superstition, or where to even find all they have available.....

Stout's better get done with the new site soon, there are some new ones they are suppose to be adding that I am dying to check out! Good thing MidAmerica isn't open yet, because I could go SDB buying crazy on that site!

Tom - The websites for Iris Sisters, Blue J, and Wild Iris Rows already have their new introductions and pricing. Superstition is still rolling out their new introductions. Stout's is suppose to have some new introductions too, but not sure if they will be on the website, or in the catalog first.

I just sent Superstition an email with the list of what I wanted and they sent back a confirmation of what they had me down for. I did not order from them before, so I had no price list to work off of (Like Arlyn did) which would have given me a ball park figure. They will send me a bill later in the month; until then I don't know the cost. I am with Leslie on this one most of the time and am very considerate of the cost. I did not worry about this this time. My second list (potential buyes) for Superstition Iris Garden is waiting until I do see a price list in order to add to my order.

Their email is:

[email protected]

If you wait for the catalog, there very well might be cultivars that are sold out! This is why I placed my order on January first (The first day they except orders) Smiling

Me either Jan. I always wait for them to come down in price a bit. So far I have never bought a new intro, so far.........
