Julia, I got a photo of my emerging 'Touchdown Teak'. It is really going to town with all this warm weather we are having right now. Sorry the photo is no very good, but you can see it looks happy and healthy.

I got 2 new sedum today, an 'Ogon' and 'Lizard'. This will be my second try with 'Ogon'. I think I killed it in full baking sun. This one will go in filtered sun, see if it will stay healthy.
First time with 'Lizard'. It says zone 9 maximum low, but Kevin Vaughn said it has been like a weed here in the Willamette Valley, Oregon. Time will tell. Whistling

Funny you have trouble with Ogon, Lynn. I have some that has been out there for several years now. The thing with Ogon is, it never looks as good as when you first planted it. So if you want to use it for say, an accent in a container, you may want to replace it every year. I think it is well worth replacing when used like that.

I noticed that my Fine Leaf Gold is still hanging in there too. Not much of it, and it has partially reverted to dark green (which Ogon also does if you have it long enough to notice it).

Yes, the ones that Connie brought last May to the clinic gathering are beautiful. I have some in 3 different containers and they have stayed beautiful all winter, even the one I brought indoors.

No sun today but I worked outside until about 3.30. Major weeds and pruning going on in the driveway bed.
What sedum is in the pot. So fun to see those guys come out of dormancy.

Fred Meyer's here has some really nice looking sedum tiles right now. The sign above them reads "Sempervivums $2.99" Shrug!

I bought two pots of S. confusom for the accent garden. The sign above those said the same thing. It did ring up at $2.99, a good deal in my opinion. I know the tiles are usually 10 bucks or up to a couple of $$ more. I could do another lawn chair which is located on the front side of the house. It holds up some really tall lilies in the summer but needs weight added. These lilies get humongous, up to the eaves and then flop over. Bulbs the size of a mans fist. A sedum tile with rocks around it would go a long way to help hold them up.

That sounds like the perfect solution Connie. Would love to see a photo when the lilies reach mature height. That sound impressive. What kind of lily is it?

This photo is from last year. They were above a foot or so shorter than in 2013. These are Orienpet lilies, a cross between Oriental and trumpet lilies. You can see I have them tied to the back of the lawn chair. A sedum tile would add weight and interest to the garden. Last year I just scrounged some rocks to hold the chair down Hilarious! .
