I can't believe this, but I just checked my profile and I have 1,126 acorns! It has to be from posting pictures, I guess. Also, it says I have 4 Thumbs Up received, and 1 given. I do remember hitting a double thumbs up icon recently, but I don't even see that icon at the bottom here now.

I put some of my pictures of Lupines and Daffodils in the databse (many are in the pending part) and got an entire batch of new acorns. I had 56 which I don't know how I got but am now up to 65 for adding the pictures.

I was on the site talk forum wondering about the thumbs up feature (which never appeared for me) and Dave fixed it so that I can now see the green thumbs up box like most other people already could. Has something to do with the fact that I use Internet Explorer as my browser.

Rita, you have just discovered that you have all those acorns from a new method Dave just implemented of importing images off the forum threads and getting credit for that image! http://garden.org/thread/view_...
If you check your profile, at the bottom it lists your photo contributions so far.
I have been going back through some of the older threads and uploading your photos yesterday and today, (as well as a few from other folks here). When I see that the same picture exists from my previous uploads but under my name, I delete that older one. That way, if anyone comments on them, you get the notification of that thread. Some are from GW though so if you add a photo that I previously already uploaded, I always check the entry first and can delete the one under my name. I want you to get the full acorn credit for your images! Dave says he has some more surprises in store for those acorns! Big Grin

OK, thanks Sue. I appreaciate your having me get credit and acorns but I am still some what confused. It is ok by me that you uploaded the pictures and got acorns for doing so. No way would I have ever done it and I know you wanted the pictures for the database. I was messing around and adding some pictures myself that are not posted on here mostly of daffoldils and lupines. I have some tulips I could do, some roses athough of my rose shots are just gardenshots with lots of differnt roses in view. I have lots of Tall bearded Iris pictures. If you have been going back to old and older posts, especially on Gardenweb then the daylily shots must mostly be posted and that is a good thing.

Betty, I meant to comment on your acorns. I know that you put lots of pictures into the database. Looks like you hard work has paid off.

Cindy, why don't you tree-mail Dave or Trish and ask about it. I think I remember that happening to someone else and they took care of it for that person.

Its not that hard to add to the database. Click on the plants tab and then click on the add a photo line and it takes you thru all the fields.

Stephanie, if you added photos to forum threads, it's just as easy to add photos to the database. I added a tutorial as to how,
The thread "Daylily Database Tutorial" in Daylilies forum
you can even skip all the detail check-off part and just go right to adding a photo. Just click the 'Plants' tab at the top, type in the daylily cultivar name and when you find it, scroll to the bottom and click the add photo link and away you go! Easy as pie! Thumbs up
You can even go back to your photos posted in the threads, click on one and click the 'Propose image for the plant database' at the bottom of the enlarged picture, type in the name to find the correct entry and again, easy to complete.

I put in some more pictures and now have 75 acorns. I am not putting in daylilies as Sue had that pretty much covered. But I have lots of garden here and more plants than just daylilies. So I started in early spring and am slowely going along by date to put plants in. Today I added tulips and some TB iris as well as something else here or there.

I am really curious to find out what Dave will come out with that we can use the acorns for. Also now that the database is actually here and improved it is sooooo much more easy to add the pictures than it ever used to be before.

Ha, I got more Acorns overnight Rolling on the floor laughing I checked today and I have 83. Must be for some of the pictures that were waiting to be approved and are now in.

I don't think any of us are going to be able to beat the numbers of acorns Sue has and Betty has because they really, really, add lots to the database and always have. Plus they just keep going. There should be some sort of Badge for super acorn gatherer
