There is a thread in the Plant Database Forum called Database Report So Far. It lists the people with the most contributions to the database. Number one is Sue with her well over 3,000 and next is Betty with her well over 2,000. Makes the rest of us look downright lazy Hilarious!

I put in some pictures again today which are now in the to be approved file. Can't wait to see how many acorns I end up with after this latest bunch of pictures. I am going thru my iris by date but still have lots to go. Many were ones that were already in the database so I know one only gets a piece of an acorn in that case.

Who knew that just a little incentive -- acorns -- would spur you on, Rita! That Dave is a smart one! I'm so glad that you're taking an interest in adding to the database, though, so acorn away! Your pictures are too beautiful to just keep them locked away in Photobucket! We must have them here!!!

Thanks! Betty, I have what seems to me an aweful lot of iris pictures. But it is only a drop in the bucket complaired to all the daylily pictures. No way would I ever get the daylily pictures in. I am so glad Sue already did them. I can get plenty of acorns for the iris and other stuff believe me. Then I have lots and lots of pictures not suitable for the database as it is just pictures of gardenbeds with everthing in them in bloom. Daylilies and iris like that and so many roses like that. Even most of my daffs I could not put into the database as they are a mixed daff collection and pictures of mass daffodils. I did put afew of the indivuals in.

I am not done with yours yet Rita, still have a lot to go through so you'll see a jump in your acorns when I do get those in. Just got so busy with preparing the database for release and fine tuning the details (and actually doing household chores and stuff, you know, real life LOL!) . I have been going back into some of my older folders too and adding all kinds of plants myself, I still have a few thousand of those to add. Blinking

139 acorns now Hurray!

I don't know how some of you that add hundreds and hundreds or even thousands of immages manage. Yesterday I managed to put in pictures from one folder only which were the iris from May 27th. My folders on the hard drive go by date and I am going thru my folders that I have in my Easy Share. These are not my photobucket albums but do have the same pictures because once I create the jpg then I upload them to Photobucket. But doing it this way for ATP works because I can see the picture and caption in Easy Share and then grab that title for loading here.

I don't know why I am so interested in the acorns. I don't need any more badges and so far there is nothing else to be done with them except give them away. But I am very interested in what Dave has planned

Thumbs up Hurray!
I have been uploading photos for years, started at DG, have over 7100 over there, I usually add them within the same day or two of taking them so it's easy to keep up. Here on ATP, I had to start all over again and my folders are also by date, a lot more time consuming. I did get a jump start on my numbers by adding all my rose images into the Cubits database and most of my daylilies too. I have started a folder for Daylilies, iris, roses and a few other plants and am gradually moving images into them so that they would be easier to find. The time consuming part of that, other than just doing it, is I have to rename the file by adding numbers because I have so many duplicate blooms. Someday I will have to get serious about doing that.

I could never do it during bloom season and keep current. It already takes hours just to take the pictures and upload and download them so I can post on Gardenweb. And I love to post my pictures on Gardenweb so that is not going to change. Then I usually do post afew but never near all on Daves Garden. Then I come here and post all of them again. So it takes a lot of time. And I did take lots of iris pictures but nothing compaired to all the pictures during daylily season. I sure am glad you are doing the daylilies! And I am very grateful Big Grin Lovey dubby

Yes Rita I think we had better hang on to our acorns, at least until we know what he has planned. Shrug! I've been working hard also adding to the database, I can only add a few at one time then I have to go do something else, I get tired going through all of my photos. Hilarious!

Rita, the only reason I have so many acorns is because Dave copied the databases from Cubits over here, and I guess he gave me credit for all my Cubits photos.

Good thing he did copy them over too as otherwise you would be having to put them all in the database again.

I know -- and Polly is checking with Dave to see if there's a way that when I upload new pictures to the Cubits database from now on, they could be automatically copied over here too. That would be great, as I just discovered today when I uploaded three daylily pictures to this database that I have another problem with uploading -- it doesn't seem to "take" most of the time, and I have to continuously hit "Upload" and then select my picture to upload over and over again because it doesn't seem to go anywhere almost all the time -- major bummer! I finally figured out how to hit the "Upload" with a glancing blow to get it to respond in the threads, and now another problem!

It must have something to do with my operating system. I have a Mac and use Safari, and I guess a lot of things are not compatible with Safari -- and maybe someday we'll move to a better operating system that's more compatible.
