Only three Y's here, all of which are new this spring.

Yasmin (Munson, R.W., 1969) - This is one I can't wait to see.


Yellow Lite (24", 5", MRe, Dor) - This is a seedling of unknown parentage/date. It was a bonus from Bill Trufant at B&B Petstop Daylilies in Mobile, AL.


Yellow Rust Ruffle (18", 7", EM, Ev Fr) - another seedling bonus from B&B Petstop Daylilies. This one has a pretty cool color combination.

That's it for me. One would think there would be a daylily named Yahoo, or Yikes, or Yowl...

I thought the same thing, Greg, it seems strange that there is not more "Y's". As you mentioned there are lots of words that could be used, and also, taking into consideration that yellow could start a name

I am sure that Yahoo is in the works somewhere. Greg that is a nice big yellow flower. I think that yellow is the least appreciated color in daylilies until you see it blooming in your own garden.

I currently have only one "Y". It is my favorite overall pink however. Yes, it's a "vintage" daylily, but it's true pink, winter hardy, flowers prolifically and takes high heat and humidity. Just look at the awards on the database. Worth a spot in anyone's garden imo:

Maryl, that is also the only "y" that I have, just planted it this fall, hope mine will grow and multiply as well as yours

At the end of the alphabet there are just a few - in my garden there are only 3 Y's:

Yellow Bouquet
Yellow Bouquet is another one which has put out polys every single year it's been in the gardens, I should find some pics and upload them.

Last year, Ron & I took a several hour drive out to an AHS daylily garden (made an appt. in advance), and told him ... 'one thing I DON'T need is any more yellows!'

Came home with 27 new daylilies ... and six were yellows or yellow-blends that did not come close to anything else in the gardens.
