Patti, Check your stash ... I believe you now have enough to purchase a badge or two.

You already have Cat & Dog. You want more?
Tuckersmom said: Now I have to get busy and figure out how to get more acorns. My problem is I just started gardening last summer and have spent most of the summer months creating new beds, rescuing a few plants from the death row section at the nursery, tree removal and building up supplies for W/S. I don't really have any pictures, or knowledge, to share yet.

Patti, you can take pictures in your neighborhood, at local garden centers, in a friends yard, at public or botanical gardens etc. and upload the photos to the database to earn additional acorns.
If you are unsure or don't know the names of the plants or flowers that you photograph, just post the photos over on the Plant ID Forum: http://garden.org/forums/view/... and I'm sure someone will be able to identify them ... then the pictures can be moved to the database and you will get acorns.

What? NOT making your very first garden plan a 10-year project for a team of five vigorous young body-builders?
You might be the first new gardener EVER to start reasonably with something manageable.
Please keep letting us know how it goes! I'm kind of expecting that that some little-known Garden Tooth Fairy will visit you in the night and suddenly your Year Two Plan will include the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, or 500 wintersowing jugs or breeding hybrid oak trees or planting thousands of bulbs ...

I call it my "mini-pergola raised bed garden with support for vining plants". Okay, the name still needs work, but if my body can do this in one day, your body can make a garden. You go girl!!!
Oh, and for the sake of honesty, I have not actually planted anything in the new bed yet...I'm still resting up.

I am leaving it to NewYorkRita to plant those thousands of bulbs and the hanging Gardens of Babylon have already been done, darn it. I don't know if I'm reasonable, but I am still sane. I need my body to work, and work well, for another 20 years minimum. However, after reading the WitWit thread today, I thought I was going to have to request oxygen. You guys are nuts! ! It's no wonder I like it here so much. :hurray:
