Really? I wondered because it looked like it could be! That is amazing! Love all those beautiful red blooms! Stunning!!!

The first boom was destroyed by the hard rain, got rain again last night but not hard. I have two different plants and this year so far the blooms are not nearly as pretty to me as they were last year.

It was pretty much overcast today, so there isn't really a sunlight picture... just one when it got a little brighter. Also, the first bloom was more yellow than this one today.

I did have a few blooms out in the garden today,
I thought I only had two of these plants, but this bloom proved I had at least three, 'Champagne Elegance' plants.

I think this is a beautiful bloom, only wish the scapes were strong enough to hold them up, I have to stake each one to keep it from flopping. Very bright all the way across the garden, but I do not have a name for it.

Quite a few of these NOids blooming today.



Another 'Heaven's Portals' bloom today.

WOW! you guys are getting flowers on your daylilies already??? ours are still nothing but foliage. big, rain soaked, floppy looking foliage! haha

This is Rossen's Tiara. Smith-Harry 2011 New to the garden last fall. Just a lovely pink and just what I was looking for!


Barbara Mandrell. Kirchhoff 2009 Also new to the garden last fall. Love the color.


Barbie's Favorite. F. Smith 2008 This cultivar has struggled, but seems to like it's new location.


And finally, here is Dutch Yellow Truffle. Kirchhoff 2003 Absolutely one of my favorites from David.


So far, this has been a wonderful bloom year. Hope it's good for everyone else, too!

New blooms in the garden today: Yes, we got another inch of rain last night, so these photos are of wet blooms also.

Volusian Spider: I took the two photos because I like the profile so much. This plant looks so much better this year than it has the last two years.

This was headed to the compost. Every flower bloomed like the two are. They never really opened. Then, today, the very last bloom, and in the rain, it saved itself from sure 'tossing'. I will say, when it warms up, it gets really great color.

Is it sculpted?

Well, today was a wonderful day in the garden after getting 1.5" of rain yesterday.
