I put four types of store-bought lettuce cores in a bit of water the day after this Idea was shared -and they're growing! Hurray! Neat!

The roots are still few and short, but should I go ahead and pot them up anyway?

The possibilities are definitely intriguing! You'd think at some point the plants would turn bitter and bolt, but if conditions were kept just right for fast leafy growth...who knows?
