As for rain, didn't really happen...drops only, not many.

Frustrating to miss the rain, isn't it?

I find it especially exasperating to watch a promising system approaching on the radar only to have it split and pass north and south of us.

Had that happen for most of 2 years. I don't think i can move out of texas this year, too much to do to be financially ready. I'm not buying bees. Either free bees or no bees, no forage in drought has taught me well

The potato can sprout, it is already being sucked dry or rotted by the rose anyway. Started coldish, warmed up but windy this afternoon 69* with 13 mph winds, it isn't as gusty as they said, but the tall oaks and pines here reduce any winds I feel.

Didn't want to get out of bed this morning, too cold. 43 was the low. Very disturbing to both me and my garden.

Warming up and getting more humid. More roof leaks fixed yesterday, one dates back to 2016 roof install, but Saturday had enough rain to show me it was leaking. The other was debris around a vent. Tree wasn't guilty but i got the branches up

Its been very windy the past two days.
If nobody hears from me after Sunday, it means I was flattened in a tornado. Brutal storms coming through Sunday night which means no sleep. I'll probably lose power but thankfully I have enough sandwich stuff I won't need to cook. Can't run the oven on the generator.

Wistfully, I am hoping the rains come in this far south tomorro afternoon, we shall see. Brutal humid today, even with these winds. Seems they are blowing so late this year, water dropped out of the ground yesterday, I poured water over the carrots and the stuff just disappeared into the beds. Finished the stains and poly for the bracing on the beds, so those are up now. Having to clean out my rain barrel, will devise a lid before I refill it, have survived the first flush of caterpillars intact. Peppers and tomatoes are setting fruits- slowly. I need to devise a trellis asap for those SS100's - the other 2 tomato plants are going to be the Rosella reds I also grew last year - the plant is just structured totally different enough to be able to tell what they are. Sticking all sorts of small things in the beds to discourage cats that are visiting, so far I still have sugar snaps struggling.
Love that pond Gypsi. We shall see if I survive getting a t post into the ground - hoping not to have to wait for a good rain to help me out, chuckl. The torn muscle in my right arm is not holding up very well, man can that pain kill.

Originally, we were supposed to have good rain chances Sunday and Monday, but now it's 30% today and that's it. Sad!

I got lucky last night. 2" without any hail and winds not as bad as predicted. Originally there were 2 days of rain beginning Friday, but nothing materialized until after midnight. Clear and warm this afternoon. The part of the system that went over me was pretty narrow, so it only rained over a 3 hour period. The ground is still soaking it up. Chances for rain again beginning mid-week. Be nice if the lake could get some run off. If it doesn't, water rationing is sure to come sooner in the summer than it did last year. I'm surprised it's not in effect now considering the lake level. More than half the population of the county have that as the main water supply. The other half uses different reservoirs and wells. The other reservoirs also have low levels.

Lots of drying winds and cloud cover with no hint of rain.
I transferred rainwater from the large containers to the 30 gallon barrels today. That should make room to store more rainwater if it should happen to rain.

Got my 3 t posts in ground and fence panel up and secure, then closed the garden back in, planted cuke seeds and hyacinth beans with the aloe bits, and a sweet tater in a hanging pot. The petunias did a wilt-
