looks like chemical damage.

Bonnie -- all of them were like that. I have one even worse -- I'm trying to find the picture............

Well -- I give up -- I've been through all my 2015 pictures twice, and I can't find it. It didn't even look like a flower -- it was just a bunch of yellowy sticks on top of a bloom stalk. Shrug!

Yup -- but it wasn't. I had probably twenty or thirty *Irises* like this, surrounded by normal ones.

And you think mine are alien! I wonder if they have the color of any of the parent iris.

Yes -- mine did -- carried the colors but nowhere near the form of an Iris. Someone on one of these lists identified it as cold damage. Shrug!

Oh no doubt it is, but that is severe change and it is interesting that it happened to many blooms instead of one or two.

Tom, I agree. They do look like chemical damage. We don't use chemicals and ours neighbor doesn't either. My reading has said that cold and herbicides can produce similar appearances of the flowers. The foliage is unchanged. At least, as far as I can see. Now I'm curious. Anyone else notice a foliar change?

This one is normal.

All of these are the same iris.

First time ever I had one like some of those above.

Should look like the first one. One section of the clump looked like the second one.

I like that purple too!

These froze a few times--the stolen mountain 'Florentina'--
just one stalk of these with three blooms that did this weird half/half (or more like 2/3--1/3) thing

the rest were all the normal whitish color, but extra thin and splotchy and rather crappy looking, but I think this is a cool bud picture

After a cold snap. The rest of the clump bloomed normally, but this one was weird from the bud on...

That's exactly what my very weird one looked like -- except there were no petals inside the green sticks. This was on Viking Dancer, and there were no other blooms or buds. Shrug!

That would be great Celia--but I've got no place to put them until we cut down some trees and Asa loses more lawn Hilarious!

This has been the year for the cold damage, especially extra flower parts.
