I counted 8 of my seedling sending up bloom stalks, so at least I'll get to see some if they don't rot off. I got them planted so late last year that I'm surprised to see any bloom stalks. One's only about 8 inches tall, but it's sending up a stalk.

Speaking of seedlings a couple years ago I had thought my Alene's New Love had died, and then after it had been a year or more after it was gone, I saw this tiny little thing growing where she had been, and thought, oh, she's not dead. Well after one year it was too big for that one, so I thought it must be one of the TB's that I had moved out of there. This year it sent up some bloom stalks and low and behold it's a seedling. Looks to be half MTB and TB as it's too tall for an MTB but too short for a TB and the blooms are little. So here it is. I'm letting it have a nice bloom season before it goes to compost. I don't know the parents, but Dark Crystal is near by.

The 28-12 cross has no increase on it. Not happy about that. I'm going to line it out, and see if it increases.

Jan,
That is my numbering system. 62-12 is the cross number.
62 is in reference to the 62 seed pod to be opened.
12 is the year = 2012
Then the - number is if I keep the seedling.

I.e 62-12-5
62 pod to be opened
12 year 2012
-5 = 5th seedling from this cross to be saved.

I start back at 1 every year. Just change the year part. So this year's crosses will be ##-15-#. Does this help?

This is the best system that worked for me. You can anything you want.
