Easy to see that you are applying your artist eye to the container arrangements. I tip my hat to you. Looking forward to seeing them in place next year.

Beautiful JoAnn you always have beautiful combos. You have a great talent and good eye.

FYI the hardy glads are not short. I do not know why they say they are short at least in my pots they are as tall as the tender glads. I had to stake them. To make it easy I have the bamboo sticks ready when I planted them so I can just attach them to the pole when they get tall.

Cinta, thanks for the tip. I did grow some "dwarf" glads a few years back and thought dwarf referred to the blossom size.
I will do the bamboo stakes as it is windy on the deck and I remember I had to stake the last ones I did in 2011

My flowers were not small either. I do not know what the dwarf meaning is about. Hilarious! Did your flowers seem to be smaller than the tender glads?

Cinta, it has been 20 years since I planted any gladfs and do not know the term tender. I thought I wanted some in a garden I once had but remembered how they flop and cant deal with any rain without dropping over so they didnt appeal to me. The Dwarfs seemed to be the answer but I was disappointed when they were 24 inches high or taller.

I do love Frizzos .I bought them from Brent and Becky in 2011 but have stopped ordering any bulbs from them.Their new website is just too confusing to deal with.
This is Frizzo

The tender Glads are the ones that are hardy for zone 7-10.

The so called short and sometimes they say mini ones they are selling are hardy for zone 4 -10. But they are not short or mini. I have some planted in the garden and I have them in my pots for the patio.

I picked up decorative metal ornamental type stakes to use in the pots and I also use bamboo stakes. I clip them on the bamboo sticks with the dollar store butterfly little kid hair clips.

The Glads serve two issues in my pots the flowers and when the flowers are gone the leaves for height stay nice until Fall. So they are spikes for the thriller in the pot.

I dont dig glad bulbs so glads of any variety are annuals here.

The clips sound like a great idea,Guess I need to get to the store more. We have a Dollar Store near me.

Agree about the drama of the past bloom leaves. Iris in my garden have the same affect. They are such a nice visual in a spot full of fluffy plants.

I like the butterfly clips idea, too. Smiling I use office supply binder clips sometimes, but the tension on them is a bit too strong for tender stems.

Debra, JoAnn the hair clips work good because they have a round effect so you do not crimp the stems. I love them and they last a long time and you can buy them in different color and sizes. I buy the adult ones for my tomato plants.

Thank you JoAnn I will try PICASA. I had a good program when I had MS XP when I went to 8 I have not found another program for my pics that I like.

I use Picasa every day. Not perfect, but--for me--it has been the easiest to use.

Debra. I agree. I use Picasa to crop images. I wish I could find another photo editing program. I had Photoshop years ago.
It's too expensive now and I am not interested in the special effects stuff so much.

Jo Ann, Pixlr is a free downloadable software if you want to try an alternate program. There are two different versions, one more streamlined, i.e., fewer features, than the other, but both worked well enough when I tried them.

Winter is a great time to try many Picasa features that we don't have time to try at the height of gardening season.

It is giving me trouble downloading. Norton keeps saying it is deleting it because it is not safe.

Did it download some extra programs other than the photo edit software?

Not that I am aware of. The only thing I can think of is maybe there is something on my computer that piggybacked onto the link? Don't know enough about computers to know if that is possible. Going to run a scan, anyway. I apologize for the trouble. Sad

Nooo you have nothing to apologize for. Norton is very careful. I was just wondering if others had any problems similar when they loaded the program. Picasa is the one that is giving Norton trouble.

I have Pixlr.I love it for making banners for ATP. Guess I will play with it this winter. It has a great color correct when my camera is adding too much blue.
Lucky me I dont have Norton.
