We have been too dry also until today when all were caught in a downpour on an iris tour.

Just finished the month of May with record rainfall for the month. Normal is 1.34"...5.55" this year! We are in the 'high desert' of southern Colorado. The gardens are growing like mad, but I'm more than ready for some warm weather.

I had severe thunder storms last night. Got about 1 1/2 inches in about two hours with lots of lightning and a bit of hail. The TV reported that other areas got two storm lines with each producing 1-2 inches (so some got up to 4 inchs of rain) and quarter size hail! Lots of flooding. Today's forecast is for more rounds of severe weather this afternoon during the commute home. Oh goodie!

We had lots of flooding too. Rained all day for a day and a half. I look like I have a jungle in my yard with all the daylilies growing like mad. The iris suffered a bit from the pounding rain. Finally going to be a nice day today but only 47 at the moment.

We had about an inch, total, for the last week, and, the weather guru says we're still 4 point 4 inches "behind" for the year !

Ah -- but they were prepared for Kentucky heat and humidity Leslie -- and Kentucky greeted them with clouds, rain, wind and temps in the 50's. I'm digging out sweatshirts for everybody!!

Man -- I am hating this spring...............

off & on rain again today. We really needed it.

It has stopped raining here and the sun is out off and on. Supposed to get up to 90 by Friday and be partly cloudy. Its a change but I really needed to see the sunshine.

There's been a LOT of rain, Lori.

We had so much rain, some of the iris rotted in the sockets before bloom. Oy, such a waste.

And it is all missing us. My garden beds are dry. We had clouds and thunder today but no rain. Hope to get some in the next few days.....(fingers crossed!)

Mary Ann - the sweatshirts remind me of my Mom. When I first moved down here, she always thought it was hot compared to Michigan and Washington (state) so she never understood when I told her I could use some more sweatshirts. And then she would do like your family and travel with no warm clothing and then be "cold".

Leslie -- how I wish I could send you some rain. I finished mowing our lawn today -- it took me three days because every time I'd start to mow, it would start to rain. Between the delays and the additional rain, the un-mown grass would get longer and longer and longer. Today was like cutting hay.

And -- yup!!! Northerners are clueless about southern weather!!!
