Pam - You are absolutely right! It may double some of the time. It did not do any form of a double on the first scape. This is the re-bloom scape. It's also a new seedling, so I'll see how it evolves in another year or two. I love the size and color(s) of it. It is one of my largest daylily blooms currently.

I liked the comparison of parents to seedling.

Ashton, I hope that big one will double more. That would be really pretty.

Leslie - Beautiful! Is BC3 (Spacecoast Behavior Pattern x Italian Kaleidoscope) photos the same plant at different times of the day or siblings?

Becky, it's the same plant. The right one was early in the day and the left late in the day.

Leslie - I thought so, but wanted to confirm it. Quite a few of mine change/fade colors as the day wears on. Beautiful bloom in both colors! I like them all! Thumbs up

I played around with my digital scrapbook program to create a Pedigree Chart. I really like whatever software that Bill Maryott is using, but try as I might looking all over the internet ... I could not find whatever it is that he has. It must be part of a software program and it is not in Plant Step. So ... I created my own template. Of course I have to hand input everything, so not as easy as the software that Bill uses. Which probably means I won't use my template that much. But I do love the pedigree charts of a seedling. I am such a visual person with very little imagination ... so the chart helps me figure out possible crosses. Or at least what a seedling's genetic material might be (recessive or dominate) ... Sticking tongue out Yeah ... what do I know. Rolling my eyes.

This is the Pedigree Chart I created for my CCC66 seedling. I must be trying to avoid housework today by messing around with this for a couple of hours! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Whistling Thumbs up

I must confess that I really don't understand what happens to the genetics of a tet or dip conversion. There is a possibility that the seedlings might produce the opposite if the conversion reverts back? It's a concept that seems to complicate my hybridizing because it goes beyond my scope of understanding. If the genes were to convert back, does that mean the seedling would be a sterile daylily? Sterile pollen AND pod?

It took about 20 minutes to create this pedigree chart for CCC04 because I had to trace the generations back and many were from seedlings. Then I had to double-check it all because it does get confusing when you go back that 4th generation backwards.

Not sure where the double bloom gene is coming from in my seedling. I did note that Etched Eyes in on both sides of family!

If it wasn't so recurved it would be about 7".
Without being stretched out its 6.5".
When established it has 25 buds, I divided it this spring and now it has gone down.

Fred - That 1st one is quite an interesting cross! Is that a first ever bloom on that seedling? If so, I would then suspect you will start seeing more of a pattern in the eye zone. I like the great genes in that one! I also like the second one! That 3rd one is also an interesting cross AND color. All are very lovely! You have a lot of good genetic stock to work with. Though I will say your Lillian hybrids are quite the show! I think they are your best genes of all! Truly amazing are your spiders/ufs. Thumbs up Hurray!
