I agree I agree I like that one a lot!!!

Not much blooming as far as new ones. My front yard seedlings are 2 and 3 years old. Some are blooming for the first time this year. They've grown large in fan size, so they are really producing some nice scapes just loaded with blooms. I have a soaker hose that winds around that front border bed to try to keep them hydrated in this heat. It seems to be working! I do understand that most daylilies do seem to bloom more abundantly in full sun instead of my partial shade beds. There is a trade-off though .... horrible-looking foliage with lots of blooms in full sun vs. nice foliage in partial-shade but not nearly as many blooms on each scape.

This is one of my many unknown parentage seedlings. I do believe one parent of this one is Roses in Snow. I've gotten many seeds from seedlings of this parent in my garden. They always pass down the RIS traits, which are apparently dominant traits. Either way, this was quite a lovely show of flowers today from this seedling:

It's funny, but I've been noticing a few more showing a partial double bloom. What's up with that? They had been single blooms and now they are doing this:

CCC70 (unknown parentage):

Thumb of 2015-06-10/beckygardener/90a5a1

CCC19 (Reblooming):

Thumb of 2015-06-10/beckygardener/22242f

Dips:
CCC61 (almost all bloomed out) Cradle of Bethlehem x Emerald Starburst:

Thumb of 2015-06-10/beckygardener/915e25

068 (unknown parentage, but I am sure Trahlyta is in the parentage):

Thumb of 2015-06-10/beckygardener/db2be7

And other Trahlyta seedling CCC67 in another garden bed. This one has beautiful foliage and will be in my rust-resistant group for hybridizing. :

Thumb of 2015-06-10/beckygardener/2da07e

I used CCC61 pollen on both Trahlyta seedling blooms. And used CCC67 pollen on CCC61. I hope to pass that rust-resistant foliage on to future seedlings in my hybridizing!

Love Roses in Snow, Becky. When the conditions are right, it's one of the prettiest I have.

Ashton, every one of those flowers is prettier than the next.

Becky - I do like EEE14. That's an attractive bouquet of flowers.

Ashton - Your Rose F. Kennedy seedlings are all gorgeous - the first one being my favorite.

Here's a second year seedling blooming in my garden. The cross is Symphony of Praise X Henry Lorrain. This is the ffo trio - the largest bloom have thrip damage and the bloom in back not having enough sun to open flat. Last year the petal color was darker, more of a raspberry pink. Unfortunately there's no improvement on bud count and no increase. However I do still have it planted in poor soil with poor sun exposure.

Today's seedling bloom SOP X HL
