I have liked a lot of Marky Smith's irises over the years. But she's not as well known a hybridizer as others. She puts out a lot of medians. But there have been a number of notable talls that she has done. Like I said, she kind of flies under the radar.
Mid America Gardens I to O. Some of the smaller hybridizers in this group.
Unless they are in your region, you never see their iris except at the conventions.
FYI, as I have been going through the talls, I have run across some medians. I have edited the median post and added them to it. I found one in the "L's" doing the last post.
That is a beautiful, unique blue blaze on the falls of Land Down Under. I asked Thomas if he made the cross when he was in Australia & he couldn't remember. ☺ In this median mad area, we have paid more attention to Marky's medians.
The Siberian/Species Iris Convention shared gardens with the American Iris Society Convention and took place right after the AIS convention this year. That meant that there were a lot of beardless iris to be seen, mostly Siberians. These are the ones I got decent pictures of at Mid-America Garden.
This is a newer part of the gardens.
Most of the trees are still quite small.
Other parts are just beautiful.
Joe's done with Mid-America and so are we.

wow! what a treat, Mikey. I love the garden shots but the photos of irises have caused my wish list to grow. Especially I Pink I Can and Fiesta In Blue. Just beautiful!
Thro' all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing; It finds an echo in my soul— How can I keep from singing?
