This is a rescued rose. It was of its own for many years. I got it last November, just before the first frost. The rose had only one stem, and I could not beleive when I saw three new stems this spring. Two days ago, the first bloom opened, and I love it. The flowers are three to four inches, peachy pink with a yellow eye. It has a very nice sweet rosy fragrance. The leaf is rather small and roundish. Any idea what this might be? Your help will be highly appreciated.

It kind of looks like my Carefree Marvel. Sometimes it blooms darker than your picture, and sometimes lighter.
IT's a real survivor. I've put mine through all sorts of torture.

How tall has it gotten? Is the new growth bronzy/red?

I'm going to suggest that there are similarities to 'Shot Silk', but I'm not sure I'm convinced that's correct.


This shows a wide range of bud sizes and shapes as they mature, and also the new red growth. The new prickles/thorns are also red.

Both roses are similar to mine. I'll keep an eye on both of them. Hopefully mine will get bigger sometime soon so we will know more. Now it is still too small to tell if it is a bush or landscaping rose. It may even turn to be a climber. The most important thing is that the rose looks very happy now.

Anyone want to take a guess??
