Wait a minute, I do have a four foot tall Oerstedella, have to look into the cage which species.
I did lose my centradenia last year after growing it for many years. I always liked those blooms.
I just checked, I have Oerstedella schweinfurthiana. I am growing it for a few years now, It gets really tall, 4 foot tall is about right, haven't seen blooms yet.
There is a cool breeze blowing as I have my coffee on the screened in porch overlooking a small lake with a corn field in the distance. High temps still running in the mid 70s and clear skies all around. Long jeans and a golf shirt have become my daily dress. Petunias and evergreen trees are everywhere.
Very nice show, Ursula. Pretty color on the Sacramento Rose and I like your idea of putting together an Encyclia basket. The Tiny Kiss has that lovely Brassavola form that we all seem to admire.
I am beginning to wonder what is going on back in the OC.

That's the best part of going away, Jim - Coming home to see what has grown in your garden since you left.
Must admit that the 70ish temperatures sound really nice right about now. It did get down below 80 last night after a good thunderstorm, and it felt somewhat fresh outside early this morning, but it's a sauna out there now.

Betsy, your dendrobium has a nice color saturation. Not a reed stem because they are epidendrums. Den like to be under potted, and these should be easy to grow and reblooming in a pot much smaller.
I was hoping those two huge buds on my Stanhopea tigrina 'Predator' would be open today, but it looks like one of the buds might be damaged on the bottom and has trouble opening.
Here is the other - the bloom is strongly scented.
Ken, the scent is very heavy and sweet. Roman Kaiser in his book The Scent of Orchids describes it as extremely heavy and sweet with aromatic-spicy accords. Touches of Vanilla notes and cut grass are present too.
