The hundreds we see in Apopka are not usually in bloom, though. But so many and so cheap! I did get my little golden ones in bloom for $8 each. Took them 2yr to rebloom but I know what I didn't do for them now.
I am getting more next time we go, for sure.

Not too much flowering in the cage except - my Encyclia brassavolae is just starting up and I expect this one to bloom right into Fall. When this plant was a lot smaller I used to bring it inside in the evening to sniff the nice scent of Carnations.
Nageliella purpurea is still blooming from those ancient long stems along with my Dendrobium bigibbum var. compactum.
My Pot Hoku Gem 'Sunspots' and Epidendrum secundum var album also try to participate.
And - I was walking the other day through our indoor shopping Plaza and thought you might enjoy the numerous plantings with lots of pretty Phals. These were in just about every aisle.

I didn't even try to get pictures of my Nageliella this year, but either the hummers or some small bug have done their pollinating well. Every spike has seed pods.
Ursula those are beautiful! And you sold the Vanda to a cheapskate me. I went back in and got me the deepest bluish purple Vanda. It has the largest Healthy rootball, he instruction is not to remove it from the vase, water twice weekly (soak for 30 minutes each time) and then empty the vase.
I think I will remove it from the vase when it is done blooming.
Jim and Elaine, you probably know this company, Silvervase in Homestead Fl. I visited the website and they have instruction how to make these Vanda rebloom. Lowe's sells the baby Vandas for $12 to $14 but they have no blooms. I bought mine couple years ago and it is attached to the oak tree big healthy but no blooms.
Will do Carol, if it will not rebloom I will be bummed out...but I've always wanted to buy this color. I regretted not buying one a couple years ago for $35 at our downtown market day.
Elaine, and - I should say, not fussy at all. This one is essentially bare root by now and it blooms regularly. Next time I'll divide it, I send you a piece.
