I didn't change anything or do anything different and today the pictures uploaded fine.
The plane in question may be a dreceana Jenny craig; I'll upload a picture for you. The piece I found was in the trash. I first put it in water for about 4 to 5 weeks, then about 1.5 to 2 weeks ago, put it in soil. The general consensuses so far is it has some bugs bugging it and it should be given a shower or sprayed with insecticide, or lopped off and rooted again. I don't think it has a strong root system yet, so am not certain about butchering it just yet. Actually I should find out how to propagate this plant properly before I start chopping the top piece off.
Here are some of my other plants which I've been fortunate to have in my family of friends. They were either given to me or I got them from a bizarre; the Rubber plant and the Orange Clavius spent $5 as a Christmas gift to me from me; and about 8 others were given to me at the end of the church bizarre. The rest were Christmas gifts or given to me , or a trade. I am willing to trade cuttings whenever someone is interested in something provided it is able to handle the propagation process. Also anyone who has plants they can no longer care for and wants to re-home them please let me know and perhaps we can work out something.
I'm very glad I found this website.
This is the dreceana in soil which I thought I uploaded earlier. Oops;
Hi everyone! I am new here! Just found this forum. I love my houseplants. My favorites are hoyas, sans, and pothos. I used to have quite the collection of cool sans and hoya varieties but lost them all in a recent move from DE to VA. I gave a bunch away, too. I miss them! Well I look forward to reading and chatting along, thanks!
Hi, everyone. I am Ken and am a recently retired dentist. My passion is tropical plants and I have hundreds and hundreds. My main focus is growing and propagating orchids (200+), staghorn ferns, plumeria, tillandsia, canna, and ginger, but I grow lots of other tropicals as well. I have two greenhouses and a large screened-in porch that I enclose in the fall. All my tropicals, with the exception of the 'White Butterfly' and 'Shampoo' gingers and the cannas, have to be brought in during October-November, where they will over-winter until March. I live in NE Mississippi, Zone 8a. Since my retirement I have started a tiny, cottage business named Tropical Plants & More - www.tropicalplantsandmore.com, so that I could sell my overflow of tropical plants and garlic bulbs/vegetable plants during the spring/summer. The business keeps me busy, since I am the only employee, but I spend far more money on my plants than I will ever make in profit!

Hi Ken. Welcome to the group! Our Uncle Daryl had Nicholson Mobile Homes for years in Columbus, Ms. In fact, I think Aunt Sally has moved back there. I wish I had known about your cottage business back then we usually made 2 trips a year up that way to visit. My husband and I had Nicholson M/H here in Central, La. I grow a lot of tropicals also but for some reason not very well this season. Now if the wind will stop gusting from Issac I would be happy to stop picking up the ones in pots.

Hello. My name is Cheryl and as my screen name suggests, we live in the foresty part of the Houston area called KingwoodTexas . I came to the houseplant forum when I realize that many of the plants grown outside in our tropical area are actually houseplants. Houseplants can grow to magnificent sizes when grown outside but they do need winter protection from frost and cold weather. Needless to say, our home gets very crowded in the winter. Many of the wintering over plants lose leaves indoors and make quite a mess for me. But the alternative is permanent leaf loss and death! So I work with it. "A greenhouse", you say? Some day! Glad to be here and look forward to all your posts.

Thanks. I am lucky to have realized a lifetime dream of mine of moving to a tropical jungle. I live in Tumaco , Colombia, South America. These plants were all collected growing wild here. I have more to come also. I created a blog to keep a running list of my new plants & efforts here in Colombia. Please check it out! http://garden.org/blogs/view/N...

Hello all,
Check out my blog for a story about how I came to be in Colombia. I originally am from South East Missouri, lived most of my life in Missouri & California, & just arrived 4 months ago to live permanently in Colombia.

Hello, I'm Alex. I live in Ames, Iowa in a townhouse so most of my plants are houseplants! I started with one aloe vera that I rescued from Walmart when I was in college and now I have a rapidly expanding houseplant collection. Most of them are succulents or cacti at the moment but I'm working on moving into other types of houseplants too.
