I think being a Tauras is the reason I am artistically challenged! Or maybe that is why I want to do every single craft I come upon; I don't know but I have a bunch of supplies and no imagination! *Blush*

Looking forward to seeing it, Charleen. I don't draw or paint and come from a family who did all these things. My mom sure tried to get me involved in everything she did, don't think there was an art form she couldn't do. It really didn't work very well, because I'm still not that crafty. But, going to do my best here.

I think I'm partly artistic and partly not. About half and half. It all depends on the weather that day or something. Confused

My overheated pea-brain finally got a direction for this "ball" project, Becky. I was going to buy a styrofoam ball and work from there but spotted this small fish bowl I already had ... it's almost round like a ball. The pictures distort it a little. So now I'm (maybe) going in the direction of a "ball" candle holder (luv candles). Or something else. Who knows?

Meanwhile, the other hanging candle holders are made from the glass covers from old outdoor light fixtures. Very cheap at the thrift stores. I added the wire to make them hangable. Also added a few beads and old jewelry to one for starters. Will add more embellishments, I think. They look great hung outside on the deck/patio or in trees in the dark. The added advantage is that the candles are protected enough that they usually don't extinguish when a breeze comes along. You can also use the small citronella candles in them to ward off those pesky mosquitoes.

Will post the "ball" fish bowl again when it becomes whatever it will be. Sticking tongue out

I'm thinkin that if I make the wires long so they hang well beneath the foliage I can put them in my big trees AND they would make luvly footlights along the path in my woodland garden, very similar to the candles in paper bags that I saw in Savanah at Christmasy time Smiling

If you used clear glue and clear glass and mosaic-ed that clear fishbowl, then added a candle inside, amazing colors at night as the candle burned down.

Great idea for hanging candle holders, Song.

Thanks ... and thanks for the ideas too. If one breaks, you don't have a fortune invested in it.

That would be beautiful, dahlia. I luv those Luminarias too. We lived in So. Cal for many years and not too far from Mexico. They use a lot of them around the holidays. Gorgeous!! Can't have too many candles. Big Grin

Well, I spent the better part of an hour off an on down in the garage and finally found my stash of antique lamp crystals as well as a few other things. Now I have even more ideas for how this ball project might go. Big Grin (The one shade is sitting in the bowl to hold it upright since it isn't flat on the bottom. That's not the way it will be.)
