Debra, yes, it was Mary Ethel Anderson that bloomed for nearly a year. Funny isn't it - so far this season there is no sign of buds yet.

I was late home today for these first blooms for the season. I had to use the flash. Typical of some first blooms, they have not opened elegantly.

This is the first bloom from my second clump of SPACECOAST RUFFLES today.



ROSE HELENA

This is another Nunan. He was a Brisbane (Australia) hybridiser from late last century and early this. This year, for me, his plants are flowering first up. I think the name "Helena" was the street in which he lived. He produced some beautiful cultivars with excellent traits in a small garden in suburbia.
