The Spiranthes are really pretty. Wish we could send some of our excess water out West these days. The hot, dry weather and fire problems stretch all the way up into British Columbia where my family are. They said it's been the best summer for sunny weather in years, but . . the fires are fierce.

We've been out on the Bay all day setting courses for sailboat races. Escaped all the thunderstorms and got in some good racing, but now that we are home, it is just pouring outside. Looks like the whole Southwest side of Florida is getting pounded with heavy rain tonight. Luckily this heavy rain is staying just barely south of Tampa and the other really saturated areas.

Yes, not a cloud in the sky here unless I look way south. The last thing I need is rain.

I am happy you all enjoyed the Spiranthes as much as I did. Smiling

Gigi, I love your white Dendrobium!
Btw, I remember some years ago on a Thailand trip, in some major streets in Bangkok Dendrobiums were established around the trunks of trees. They flowered beautifully like that.

Now please share some of that wet weather! I heard yesterday that one of the neighboring town put watering restrictions in place. I was this Summer a bit more stingy with my rainwater, always looking a bit ahead, so it will not be as drastic for me. For now! But just getting caught watering on other than two designated days a week from a hose will get you in trouble, as I have a lot of other plants which like a good soak in these hot temperatures. Now were is that watering can!
I am keeping my fingers crossed for some good downpours.

That's the look I'm hoping to achieve, orchids on trees. I want it to look as natural as possible and less work for me. Since, I'm growing more for my own enjoyment rather than for selling, i decided to grow more Catts and Dens because they seem to thrive in my environment. I bought 3 very healthy looking Dens (with no blooms) for $5 each at Lowe's and they were so easy to mount on my Dwarf and compact plumerias.

Ursula that Medusa is soooooooo gorgeous Lovey dubby Lovey dubby I could stare at that beauty all day long!

I'm encouraged by this Vanda. I brought this to the office for 3 days (in a fancy vase) last week, brought this home for the 3 day weekend, soaked with water with super thrive and hang it outside my oak tree in the morning for 2 days now...and it is still looking great....

Thumb of 2015-09-06/GigiPlumeria/ec2f3e

It got a lot of ooohs and aaaahhhhhs in the office. Two of my co workers are going to Lowe's to buy Vandas.

That is one beautiful Harbenaria medusa, Ursula. Good growing! Thumbs up

I found this little (C. lundii x Epi. longipetalum) blooming this morning. The flowers are really tiny.

Your L. /C lundii x Epi longipetalum is not only cute and pretty, it is also interesting. When I think of this plant in bloom, I visualize this.

I wonder if someone repeated the Brennan's cross with different results.

On a different note, look at this website if you like and tell me this is not my picture, the first one I just posted. Really now? Hilarious!

Nice orchids, everyone!

That's the spirit, Gigi! Get them hooked on orchids.

I finally have something to share. This is Vandachostylis Mishima Lime (the closest I could get to Motes Leprechaun in color) so far.

The (C. lundii x Epi. longipetalum) is a small plant and a first time bloomer for me so I had nothing to compare it with until your post, Ursula. Perhaps it will grow up into yours. Do you think the Chinese are using our pics? We may be rock stars over there! Rolling on the floor laughing

Melissa, love the Mishima Lime and your new Vanda set-up. I have to ask, what is "HFT"

Nice color on your Vanda, Gigi. Sounds like you may be starting your own fan club. Hilarious!

Melissa, we race Flying Scots now, but were doing Race Committee setting marks for the Laser, Radial and 4.7 course this weekend.

Jim, I'm not sure but unless you have a label on it, I think that little bloomer you have might be the Oecoclades maculata - just thinking the nice mottled leaves look a lot like it. http://www.flnativeorchids.com...

You sure have a lot more flowers than mine ever had! Mine has been lost in the jungle for a while now . . I must go on an orchid hunt and see if I can find it.

Thank You! Jim, Ursula and Melissa. I'm hoping I don't get hooked on Vanda Big Grin I just want a couple just to see how it will do under my care....I will give it a year.

Ursula, that is soo freaky, it does look like your photo was used. How did you find out about it? Can you tell if that photo was uploaded after you uploaded yours? Like Jim said, you guys might have a large following all over the world and you might be rock stars or orchid guru somewhere. Whistling Whistling

I know in Flickr, I have a few Flickr friends who were complaining because their plumeria photos were being used in eBay without their consent. I know i had one photo of a Puu Kahea plumeria that made it to "Explore" and I had 5,800+ views and 128 favorites. So who knows where that photo ended up.

Gigi, I don't have my laptop any longer, where I had years of my photos in monthly files, to look up in an instance. So, I knew I posted pictures of the hybrid many times and simply googling for it seemed the easiest. I found my pictures easy enough and then saw one of them ( I had posted mine 3 years ago) at the link I posted above.
Honestly, it is not a big deal, I was actually a bit amused. I have posted my stuff for many years on the internet, I am surprised it doesn't happen more often. To quote Jim, we are Rock stars!! Rolling on the floor laughing
