Back around 2005-06, I had a bed containing all of Pat Stamile's "candies" that had been registered to that time. Gradually, most of them left here, not because they were bad plants but over time when growing a lot of daylilies, one's tastes change .... and sometimes you just get tired of some and want to move on to a new interest. Speaking for myself only! I still have both 'Strawberry Candy' and 'Custard Candy' probably only because they both won the Stout Medal and because they grow well in large pots in the garden. Every couple of years, I have to give away some fans to new club members because they both grow vigorously. I still have kept a few of the more recent ones, 'Precious Candy,' 'Sherry Candy' and 'Special Candy.'
Here are some pictures of some that used to grow here:

DREAM CANDY, ELDERBERRY CANDY and AWESOME CANDY
Thumb of 2015-10-03/floota/04934c Thumb of 2015-10-03/floota/450a7b
I used to grow BLUEBERRY CANDY, EXOTIC CANDY, ELEGANT CANDY, HUCKLEBERRY CANDY, LICORICE CANDY, PEACH CANDY, BLACKBERRY CANDY, RAINBOW CANDY, VANILLA CANDY, WINEBERRY CANDY, and others, but those pics were before the age of digital and are not on this computer. ORCHID CANDY was a favorite and I believe it went to a club member!

These still grow here: CUSTARD CANDY, STRAWBERRY CANDY and I can't resist adding this clump from the Long Island National in 2006,
where STRAWBERRY CANDY was hybridized. This was at the LIDS club bed and Pat was there to see it ! Shows why it won the SSM - what a clump!

Another that used to grow here: SUNGOLD CANDY;

These still grow here, mug shot of each: PRECIOUS CANDY, SHERRY CANDY and SPECIAL CANDY.

The newer ones seem to have a decent bud count here and nice "pony" sized blooms with pretty faces and edges.

Thanks, I am very proud to have won the photo contest. This year I have been working on getting a better background for my photos, and my photo of Precious Candy really has a nice background.

My favorite "candies" are Awesome Candy and Raspberry Candy. They both perform well in my zone 7b. Not a really high bud count, but oh so beautiful. The clean background colors and bright eye colors on both of these create striking blooms. I won my first blue/purple ribbon with Raspberry Candy, and I did almost nothing to it as far as grooming. It was just perfect. The other RC in that show was much shorter than mine, not sure why, but I do grow this one in part shade. Maybe it's reaching for the sun? In any case, these are permanent keepers for me.

Recently acquired:
Custard Candy
Precious Candy
Looking forward to seeing these bloom next year.

Previously owned:
Elegant Candy
I sold this one a couple years ago, but I miss it. Beautiful soft shade of pink out of Janice Brown.

I do not have Huckleberry Candy, but it is very special to me. When I first started growing daylilies I found Huckleberry Candy on http://perennialresource.com and I fell in love. I went straight to Pike's Nursery to buy it. They did not have it and could not order it for me. I was disappointed, but determined to find it. In my search I found and joined the Northwest Georgia Daylily Society. A few years and nearly 200 daylilies later, I am now president of that club, and a member of 2 others. I found what will be a life-long passion because of this one plant. Here's a photo of Huckleberry Candy from the 2015 National Convention.
