I bought Moss Spot from them this year, Kent, so I should be able to tell when it blooms next spring if it is the same iris. And yes, I buy from Winterberry every year. This little iris seems to have a more peachy tan in the standards but that one is as close as I have come to identifying it.

I do add the bonuses onto the spread sheets just like the ones I ordered. I also keep my invoices and even my share lists in a binder. Perhaps this spring it will be time to go from iris to iris checking them against the spreadsheet in order to find the name of the NoID.

Thanx for all the suggestions.

It is not like any other that I grow and I do not know where it came from, Lucy. It just bloomed in my irises this spring. No tag so I assumed it was lost. What if someone sent me an iris that has not been introduced yet? It has peachy tan standards and does not look like any other that I have. oh well, I have named it pretty NoID and I like it so until I find out what it is I will just enjoy it. smiles

We can always enjoy the Noids as well as the named. I am sure the name will turn up.

I posted this as Italian Ice on the 'Honoring' thread and Tom posted a picture of his. So now that I know it was mislabeled, anyone have any idea what it is. Tom thought it was an historic but I can't find a match.

Bonnie - I too think it would be a Spoon iris because he has done so much work with green dwarfs. I first thought Moss Spot too, but see that your standards are not white. I wonder if it can vary at all with soil conditions? I know my Muggles is a bit different in color than Greg's and I got them from Greg so the difference is in the growing conditions.

Bonnie - Green Spring is labelled by Winterberry as having yellow standards. Does your iris have yellow beards that are tipped with white? It looks like it from the photos, but I am not sure.

Here is another shot of it in the shade. You can see the color of the standards better here.

Richard, there's an historic NOID that several of us have that is at least similar to yours. This year I got 'Spring Romance' to compare with it as a possibility. I'm thinking yours has some differences though.

Leslie, I grow Green Spring and that is definitely not it. I don't think it is Moss Spot even though my labeled MS did not bloom yet because it has subtle differences. The standards on the NoID has more substance and is definitely a color and not white. Eventually I will se it somewhere.

Sherry, the picture on the right (lemon yellow) looks really close to what I posted this morning. You say it's a NOID that a few people have?

Yes, a few of us have it, or one similar to it. Both pictures I posted are the same Iris. Mine is pretty tall and has PBF. It blooms early and long and I'm told it reblooms (at least in San Jose).
