I sent a message to Mid-America asking when the site will open for orders. This is the reply I got;

Hi John,
We will start taking order for 2016 in Mid Feb. to Early March, depending on how long it takes to get the new catalogue and website completed. Thanks for your interest in Mid-America Garden and happy Thanksgiving.
Cheers,
Thomas

Wish they had a 'Wish List' that you could stuff in and then with one key stroke put the entire list into your cart.

How have you been finding out which iris are sold out?

I noticed Iris Sisters has a tab for Wish List.
I have two gift certificates to MidAmerica for winning displays at the iris society but each is only for $10 and that won't buy much, barely pay the postage. But our society almost always uses them for our private member sale in August. It is just dicey to get the ones you want as others pick them before you can.
We were so impressed with the size of Superstition's rhizomes that we may have to order from them also.

Well there are three Dragons, three TBs and some medians I would love to have. Unfortunately they trimmed their offerings and some I am dying to get are no longer listed. As if the others aren't enough!

I think this year's BB from Temp Two is an interesting color. Sadly it sounds like a 'short tall' & many of us have moved beyond that here.

I think the "sold out" captions on everything in the Mid-America catalog
are just code for "we're not taking orders until Feb-March".

I agree Jan. Some vendors mark everything as 'sold out' just to keep people from putting in orders during the off season. Sites will be updated soon. smiles

I though about his new BB, but the comment about being just short of a TB put me off. I think I will stick with borders from those who concentrate on them.

Lucy - he has produced some lovely smalls over the years. I love my Blyth SDB's and IB's. I just got Thundery last year, so don't know if the BB will just be a short TB or not, but other BB's I have from other hybridizers are in many ways just shorter TB's.

I think we have to be greatfull for Barry's work on pink SDBs. He saw a bit of orange beard way down in the flower of 'Regards' & started to work. We still have Regards & I would never have thought to use it. I reaquired 'Chanted' this past year. yes, one has to be careful & catch the true BBs. Even 'Niche' which won the top award this year, I would not touch for breeding. It has a lovely flower, but the plant itself is too much like a TB.

I ordered. Expensive ones - so I'm saving up until the bill comes Rolling my eyes.

After blowing my budget with Blyth, my orders elsewhere are small to non-existent!

Jan did you mail your order or email it? Someone said it could be emailed but I don't see anything about it. I ended up not ordering because sherbet bomb was sold out. that was why I was going to order in the first place now I will wait for keith to get his supply up so I can get it from him.
