Hello Kadie. Good evening. Well I will remember that. Than it is almost time for some. Does that also count even though some of them do have enough space. I guess so, because the bowls are very undeep. So the roots do not have much space. Thank You!
P.s how big should the pit be? What size is best.

Yes...they want and need lots of space to grow their beautiful caudex and extended roots!

Yes...9 cm is equal to almost 4". Please do consider snipping off the tap root and nipping the terminal apex at transplant to encourage caudex and root fattening, as well as branching. Here's a video that helped me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
I used the disc on only two of my adeniums. There is a definite difference using the disc. I'll explain later. Best to transplant without the disc, though. But experimenting is a good thing! Thumbs up

I thought you did not cut the tap root to make them bloom sooner. Wich is best?
I do have 13 cm pots at hand. Are those to big you think?

This is true...the blooms will be delayed by a month or two. But if you want a spectacular caudex to go with it, then I recommend this.

I did look at the video, but I must say I do not understand a thing. It is all in Spanish? Do you know if something like it is also available in English!

Not at all! Just make sure you have plenty of aeration in your media, i.e., perlite mixed into the media to drain out the water faster and dry sooner between waterings.

Than I will use those pots. That will safe me from buying new ones. I do have perlite. So no problem.

Oops! I don't mean that the media needs to dry out completely...seedlings need constant moisture. I mean that at least the surface of the media should be slightly dry to the eye/touch.

It's in Portuguese language...I don't understand it either, but the video does show how to do. I have not come across any English language videos that specifically tells how to do. There are a lot of Thailand language videos that I wish were translated into English...but nothing doing. At least some are very graphic. nodding

Is there something I need to know to make sure it will not die after cutting the taproot. Do you have any tips for me?

Hilarious! Hilarious! Like most people, you're leary about cutting off the tap root. Just cut off the tap root, not the fine roots growing above it. I usually dip the cut in rooting hormone powder before planting. The hormone has a fungicide to prevent rotting.

Tap roots are not needed in container planting. They are needed, of course, when grown in the ground for stability.

Removing the tap root allows for a thicker caudex/trunk above ground.

Ok. Than I have to buy rooting hormone powder. I do not want them to rot. I hate the idea. Angry

As long as there are some fine feeder roots left, they should be fine. The root hormone is definitely a good idea.
Do some this way and others without.
Do not be concerned about blooming time, as these are seedlings and they will not be blooming until they are 6 months or even 1-2 years of age.

Hi Rick.

Do you think if I do it without root hormone they might get rot? Or is the chance small if I sterilize the cissor or knife?

You could use cinnamon instead of the root hormone; it is a natural fungicide.
