I also just posted on DG that I hope to come and will bring my friend Ellenora. Now I will try to establish a seed list.

Thanks for doing this. I have attended plant swaps before, but not the seed swap!

Edited to say: I had forgotten my avatar was a painting by my beloved grandmother. Seeing it makes my day!

Here's a fun article from the Post about buying seeds in the middle of winter. Sticking tongue out

I'm so glad we're starting at noon and not later! It turns out I have a family gathering to attend later in the day and may have to leave at around 4.

Oops! I didn't mean to put dibs on Bronze Fennel from both ssg and 227mama. Is there a way to unclaim one so someone else can have some? I just want a few plants for Swallowtail caterpillars.

Muddy, it appears that you can indeed unclaim something. If you go to the seed swap and then to your bought or claimed items, it has several columns and lists each claimed seed. There should be a green check mark in the Plants column and to the right of that (really this time) there is a trash can icon. I think if you click on that, you no longer have dibs on that seed packet.

Thanks everybody for helping out! Sorry I've been so unavailable right before the swap. Much as I love the new seed swaps tool, my participation in it may be almost nil this time... but I'll be bringing lots of one of a kind seeds to dig through!

Also, if everybody would please tell something about their garden and/or what kind of seeds they're looking for on their seed swaps profile, that would let me (and others) find a surprise or two for your goodie bag. If you're bringing a friend, they can make their own swap list, or you can add them to your profile ("My friend has mostly sun in her yard and loves zinnias").

Hopefully we'll all be dug out by Sunday... if that turns out to be a problem, we'll try to reschedule for the following Saturday or Sunday, but for now let's assume we'll be able to proceed with our current plan!

Oops, I didn't realize there was a swap profile!

Jill, I guess you still have power over in Frederick! You probably got 3 feet!

Everybody, please check in Friday night and let us know if you are still snow-bound or not.

The way things look now, I think the swap will probably NOT be postponed. But we'll wait until tomorrow night to make a final evaluation.

Pat, I think Terri should be plowed out soon, so if you and David still have stuck cars let her know -- likely she can give you a lift.

We got back yesterday afternoon from a trip to Florida... took the auto train down, expecting to return on the Saturday overnight train... obviously that was cancelled! So we had an extra day at Disney World and then went to Daytona for 2 nights. I know everybody feels so bad that we were "snowed in" like that. Not!

Anyway, that's why I've been absent more than not the past couple of weeks... and I don't post in public that we're out of town, although I know most of you probably figure it out when I go all vague like that LOL.

Joyanna and i will look at seed lists tonight, and tomorrow we'll get goodie bags, gift table stuff, and "free to good home" seeds ready.

I'll also go increase the multiplier to some high number to make sure everybody can get their dibs in by tomorrow. :-)

Muddy, you mentioned in your note by your Great Blue Lobelia that you had seeds from a mix of white and blue flowering plants... could I please have some of the mix? Thanks!

Has anyone heard form Sally, not sallyg but the other Sally? Sorry, I'm completely blanking out on her screen name right now!

She usually comes to the seed swap but I haven't heard from her in awhile. Is she back in England?
