Mieko2 said:@sgardener- wow! What a lovely display. Have you ever had someone come along a pick a bouquet from the sidewalk garden?
A friend of mine made her front yard into a garden and she has had people come into it and pick her flowers!

Thank you LG!

Yep! I do have people picked my flowers from the sidewalk. In spring time, my problems is my neighbor's two boys picking the buds of peonies and breaking Iris stalks. I found an empty water bottle stuffed with peony buds! They almost completely disbudded my Festiva Maxima look alike. I had a talk with them so hopefully it won't happen again this spring. Two years in a row, someone picked the 3 stems of Scheherazade from the sidewalk. I say, he a has a good taste. Hilarious! Some of them picked Alliums and some picked Irises.

Lily, that upsets me that people think that floral displays are to be plundered! We gardeners put them there for all to enjoy; I can't comprehend someone just helping themselves to the flowers and ruining the future blooms.
I came home from work one day and someone had dug up all of my irises at the end of my driveway. They did not leave me one. I had bought them from Schrieners, so we all know that they were expensive. I have never gotten over that incident. Grumbling :grumbling: Grumbling

That'd teach them, huh? I bought one to repel the deer from my side garden, turned it off when I got soaked a couple of times taking the dogs out in the morning, though...... Wow, there are some bold people in this world. Can we press charges for trespassing Whistling

LOL Liz, I need a few of those Rolling on the floor laughing especially for Peony Scarlet Heaven that I planted in my street bed. I'll be very upset if the blooms get cut on these plants.

Today, I planted the last of the winter sown plants that I plan on using as companion plants for my peonies. I'm looking forward to spring.

Wow, Annette, you already have seedlings from your winter sown pots? I don't even have all of mine out yet, we still have another 60-90 days of winter weather coming.....I am so envious of your zone....

I was going into some serious zone envy there! You'll have sprouts when my jugs are still frozen, anyway!

Sorry to hear, LG. I'd be very upset if it happens to me. Maybe installing a camera will help.

So sorry to hear about your stolen blooms, Lily!

Oh wow, Liz! That is one effective deterrent. Can I ask how many did you install around your house?

I only purchased 1 but I doubt if I even got a deer. Did get myself and the dogs before I retired it.....
