I agree When we don't feel well, it's always good to spend time doing what we love best.

I hope you feel better soon, Aspen. How cool that you saw Bald Eagles! I hope you get some Wood Ducks; I'd love to see photos.
The chances of seeing Bald Eagles roosting near you is going up because their population is increasing. They're territorial, so they have to go further inland to find available nesting areas. Or so I've read.

I saw about 5 vultures perched on trees in the woods near me a few weeks ago....the ugly vultures with the red heads, not the more attractive Black Vultures that ssg saw. I think they were hanging out waiting for a squirrel or bird.

Glad to hear the bald eagle population is increasing! I recall decades ago when it was at critical levels. Maybe that's good news for the Monarchs, too?

Vultures--I know they have an important place to play in nature, but I always have a bit of an 'ewwww' reaction when I think of them. Glare

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Today was the first day that I saw our Pileated Woodpeckers this winter. We have a pair that have been coming to our feeders each winter and we see them hanging around usually in to the early Spring. But this year they haven't been seen yet. Ric and I were just talking about them missing and wondering why we haven't seen them. They must have heard us as they showed up this morning. This pic isn't very good the lens fogged up when I took it outside.

I was banging on the window. They don't care. I don't want them to get used to coming up the walk where Inhave blue eyed frass that they love to pull out of the ground and leave roots to the sky.......but they just don't care. When the crazy lady comes flying out of that front door wearing pink flannel pjs with sheep all over and flapping arms like a big bad predator... They just don't care... The neighbors like it..... But these guys and gals. Just don't ....c a r e

Darn deer, they know who's a threat for real and who isn't.

We passed a black vulture on the road the other day. He was on a squirrel roadkill. We cruised on by at 35 mph, he was in the marked roadway but some inches inside the line. He just checked us out and took a couple steps to the other side of the critter. THey seem quite studious about our habits and when the danger isn't real.
Plant it and they will come.

Holly, no. But I sure like it. My luck something would get misspelled. I have only one tattoo--- a water dragon on the arch of my foot. This summer I plan an angel cloud. It was right here in the skies (in our town ) overhead --right after my big brother passed. I am hoping the tattoo artist will do a good job. Hard to tell with clouds. Will be on neck behind ear. I hope not as painful as the foot.

I have a blue starfish on my foot. I bet that water dragon is pretty. Find a good artist for that cloud there are some amazing kinds of tattoo work out there nowadays. How beautiful your cloud angel.

That foot has no fat...ooooouch......

Me, Isabella and Emmaline are Water Dragon babies. Once every 50 years.

I had the shading pick up the birth colors of my siblings, parents, kids, grands, birthdays...,with 14 siblings and the rest of the gang...I got every color probably because every month covered!

It was my first and so far my only tat just got it a couple of years ago. I was under the impression that it would be painful but it really was surprising easy. Mine isn't filled in very much it is mostly lines so maybe that is why it was reasonably painless.
Here you go this was taken shortly after it was done you can see it was still healing in a few spots.

Wow, Holly, I didn't know you had a tattoo! That's a pretty one!

I remember talking about tattoos over at DG when CAM's son got a tattoo, but I don't remember seeing a picture of yours at that time.

I LOVE that Dr. Seuss quote.

DH and DD laughing at me, having made the most expensive suet ever. Raisins, peanuts, honey. Was hoping to entice something interesting like pleated woodpeckers, bald eagles, even vultures. So far, just boring little brown things. I think they're wrens.

That is nice holly. Not stiff.
I got mine in So. Fla ..just a line at first...colored it in (in) Pa.

Here is the first...and the small colored bits were the birthstones....
These faded over time. Some parlors won't do feet for the fade factor..

The next is colored right after done in Pa.

The last is now...can see it too has faded some.

Well those loaded wrong.

Getting back to the critters... I keep seeing this tiny tiny pale yellow / dull green bird darting here and there so fast!! It is freezing out there. I wonder if it should have flown somewhere before now. I wonder if there is something I can / should do.

Lisa, just wait, other birds will find it. You'll definitely get downy or hairy woodpeckers, and possibly blue birds. I have also seen juncos on my suet feeders, even though they're ground feeders, not "clingers".
