Those of us who live in temperate climates all have the same dilemma, David. My (actual) growing time at best is from March through October. Late spring weather and/or early winter weather can shorten that by 1-2 months. I figure that is why I never had a seed-pod in 20 years of growing plumeria.

Luck, my friend, complete and total luck. I was so jealous of all those in FL and CA who had seed-pods coming out of their wazoo. Like traveling, seeing a seed-pod on one of my plumeria was on my bucket list..................for over two decades. Now, if I can just get some of my seedlings to grow up and bloom, I can check off some more things. I guess after waiting 25 years for a seed-pod, waiting 3-5 years for flowers isn't so bad. But you don't have to. Your seedlings bloom in 13 months & then set seed in 2 more. nodding

BTW 3 more germinated. And no - I do not know what I will do with all of them come Fall. [Doing best Scarlett Ohara impersonation. Blinking Confused Angel ]

I am sorry. I did not compose that post like I should have. The seedlings I was referring to are orchid seedlings. Some orchids won't bloom for 4-5 years and some take longer than that. Growing orchids teaches one patience. Whistling

17 or so as of this morning. I am very impressed with the size of the stems as they emerge. So many plants stem diameter is barely microns - not so these plumeria. Green Grin!

I agree I messed up my seedlings planted last year, didn't take care of them and now they are going dormant because I left them outside. You are not supposed to let the plumeria seedlings go dormant on the first year of planting.

Are seedlings considered to be those plants in their first year?

So two of our eminent Plumeria growers within 1 zone of each other do just the opposite? hmmm.

Regardless, much of what you guys down in Florida do is totally inapplicable for me. I do read what everyone does and then I Wing It. Green Grin! Rolling on the floor laughing Thumbs up

Azgarden said: @DavidLMO Can't wait to see your Moragne #27 seedlings. Am anxious to compare notes as I planted them also..seeds from BB&B. Here are mine this morning on day 24.

Hmm -- just looking thru these posts again. Yours obviously are growing much faster than mine. I planted mine on the 3rd, so that is 20 days ago. No way mine are gonna look that big in 4 days!! Grumbling

I don't even have true leaves yet!!

@Azgarden - remind me under what conditions you are growing yours... Thumbs up
