I received my first mail order of the year a few days ago from Holland Bulb Farms. Not exactly my favorite supplier, but the sales prices "occasionally" draw me in. I bought three Labyrinth dahlias for $7.48. I've never grown it before. It's a bigger bloom and according to the photos I've seen it looks to be pink or bronze or anything in between. I also got three each of Red Pygmy and Orange Nugget dahlias for $5.98 per three. These are shorter plants that I'll use as borders across the front of my raised bed.

My one experience with Homestead was enough. Never again!

I think I have a couple more orders arriving in this week. Blossum Gultch and Lobaughs both said they would ship this week, so fingers crossed. Maybe 15 tubers total, so not a huge amount , after that I'll still be waiting for Cowlitz and Hollyhill orders. All of my trades have arrived and are mostly eying up nicely.

Very nice looking tubers - fat and sprouted up. I only ordered 4, and they sent 2 extras! I was shocked. One of the dahlias I ordered was a new introduction and pricey, but if you average out the prices with the 2 extras........excellent deal.
I highly recommend them - great communicators too.

That's a great review. I think I know two people who'll check them out next year.

I went to our local store checking for dahlias. Nothing unusual so I actually left without buying a thing: a rarity for me.
