Same here on the Tolumnias, Lindsey and I just love them but haven't bought another for 3 years. I still have the cute little thumb pots they came in, too . . .
I've since found out by a lot more reading that they are "twig epiphytes" and like to grow on citrus trees. (I wonder how they'll do on my dying citrus trees
)
If I see them at Lowe's for $8 or even $10 I might take the plunge again but the only ones I've seen recently were $20 at the orchid show. High light, scanty twiggy mountings, and maybe my fabulous new fert will make it possible to keep one or two alive for more than a year.
Ken they are very tiny plants when they're not in bloom, leaves about 2 or 3in. long at most. Then they burst into bloom in the spring with big sprays of those lovely flowers. You could sell a few big plants and buy a dozen Tols that wouldn't take up as much room.
