Lorikeet does indeed exhibit excellent color! That is one I used to grow that completely diminished over time; I replaced them last fall and planted in a better spot. They were planted late and are just now budding. And Palmyra is a real stunner too!

Some of the folks who show daffs will pluck the bloom as it starts to open and keep them indoors to protect against sun bleaching.

That makes sense.
Planning on attending the World Convention (ADS) daffodil show tomorrow in St Louis.

It's 1st day was Thursday, do you think the displayed blooms will be in a state of decline tomorrow?

Some probably will be, but if they keep the room cool enough there should still be lots of quality blooms to see.

That was quite the show! Most impressive. I've downloaded around 120 pics from the show into the database.

This is my first spring with Puppet, and I'm really liking it! Bigger blooms than I expected, not sure what took me so long to try it.

After seeing all of your beautiful results--I think I will try some bulb forcing next fall.
I have done it before , but not recently.

Way to go Caroline.
I hope to get an earlier jump on it this fall. I've still a couple in the basement under lights. I counted, so far, including a couple of duds, 29 different cultivars forced this year.

I am fortunate to have the room to do so many. I can get about 19 six inch pots of 3 to 5 bulbs each in a refrigerator dedicated to winter forcing. Plus I have a covered stairwell from outside to a basement door. I put pots of bulbs in those big totes and then cover the totes w/ blankets and rugs. I could probably max out that space with 25 more six inch pots. However, I usually make a couple big pots of forcers and put maybe just one or two big pots in a tote or two.
