A few of the Herrington miniatures and doubles have been harder to find and more expensive since they were on the National convention tour. I have been collecting miniatures the last couple years and have seen the spike in interest. Classic supply and demand.

Anyone seen this daylily being sold anywhere lately? I am interested because it does show a rust resistance of 1.0, anyone know anything about how well it does in warm climates?

Becky, isn't Dan Hansen not that far from you in Geneva? Do you belong to, or have you considered, joining the AHS? I just looked at their membership roster and found someone just under an hour from you, another one about 45 mins from you. Obviously it's private member only information so I can't pass it on. I don't know how many others there might be since my Florida geography is just about non-existent, who knows there might be someone even nearer.

Larry, is that the colour it is supposed to be? Registration says orange self with a green throat. I'm not good at colours but it looks a bit pale to be orange.

Sue - There are quite a few daylily breeders in north Florida. I am on the south end of central Florida. Dan is about a 3 hour drive from me. Wouldn't be a problem if I had a car that was reliable. It's one of those situations where they are so close, yet so far away. Sad

sooby,
I don't know, because that is the only picture I can find anywhere, and Bluegrass Gardens says it is sold out.

Google says Geneva is 86 miles from you, 1 hr 25 mins?

My sister lives up that way further north and it is a 3 hour drive to her place, so Dan might be 2+ hours away. It takes me an hour to drive to my son's home in north Melbourne. (Which I don't do too much anymore with my old car.) So I know it is over 2 hours drive. There is road construction constantly going on along I-95 to make matters worse. I wonder what speed google is estimating traveling at? 70-80 miles per hr? Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! My car doesn't go that fast. Sticking tongue out

I really need a newer, more reliable car. (Just can't swing that right now.) My little car is 16 years old, but gets me to and from work, so that's what is most important right now.

taylordaylily,
That is the only place I have found it, but I found in in their 2011 price listing for 18 dollars I haven't seen it priced more recently.

I found that too. If you go to the homepage on the link above, it says they are a wholesale nursery but, they also sell to the public. Their online catalog is strange but, that could be because they are a wholesale nursery. You probably have to contact them for a price. Some wholesalers adjust prices according to the customer.

I would go on Lily Auction and list it as one of your Wanted Items. If sellers see that, they may list it for you.

I'm looking for three DLs: Purple Phantom, Buddy's Angel Baby, and Lynnstar. Do you know where I could acquire any or all of them?
Thanks,
David

Lynnstar: shipped to US 20.00 first three plants then $1.00 each, from Canada?

They also show Purple Phantom:

tink3472, down in Cantonment, Fl. posted these photos, maybe she has it for sale? I see it is a James Hall intro, so you have probably already checked with them. But just in case you haven't thought I would mention her. She must be really busy don't see many posts from her lately, I miss those. She always had the most informative things to say.

I know you have probably checked these sites out but maybe at least this will draw some attention to the post.

David,
Adding to what Larry wrote.
I have searched for H. Anderson daylilies when placing orders this spring and the only place I could find them is Canadian seller Fairyscape Daylilies. I did check them out and for US buyers there is a minimum $200 order plus the phytosanitary certificate plus shipping. I would like to have Purple Phantom and also Pop Tart. I am actually considering making a future order to get these and a few more that I can only find there.
I did wish they were coming on my Bishop order. Hilarious!

Thanks to Larry Seedfork and Terry kidfishing for that info. Unfortunately, I think it will lead only to more purchases. Our children will inherit only flowers if we keep doing this! I sent tink an email but I figure she is very busy right now. I shall check out Fairyscape when I have a chance. I can withstand anything except temptation. David

I've been looking for Rhett Butler of Gascone for a while now. Tink is the only person in the database with a photo, and I sent her a treemail sometime ago with no response. I'm sure she is very busy.

ah, I réally wished I lived close by you, Becky!
We could take my van and visit nurseries together, share seeds and seedlings, I would be able to drool over your garden firsthand (and I would live in an area that is a lót warmer than where I live now Hilarious! )
