I had several do that the first year too, but now in their 2nd year those are all larger clumps with more bloom stalks than those that did bloom the first year.

I planted two of these rhizomes last summer. One died out completely, the other had the bloom rot off, but it has some increases that are doing OK. Maybe I'll see it next year.
