I would like to start this thread in an effort to gain more knowledge about Rosularia. Please post your Rosularia pictures here also.
Rosularia platyphylla

I have Rosularia chrysantha, which looks a little like your picture labeled rechingeri, but different again.
It's very small, and seems to grow extremely slowly. I can't wait to get more information on how to grow them well, as well as getting more species.

Looks like we have a lot to learn on this plant variety Jacki.

Where's my wish list - adding this! I tried to grow some from seed I got from Gardens North but nothing came up.

I just hope I can keep it alive through the winter. I am going to get more bags of chicken grit to keep all the hardy succulents up out of the wet soil this winter and next spring. Hope that works for this beautiful Rosularia. I really love this one. Keep your fingers crossed for me so I can have some next spring to trade with you.

I am so happy to announce all of my Rosularia (several different types) have all come through this very wet winter and spring in a very healthy state. And they are growing. The cool (not cold) temps along with continual rain has not affected them adversely.

I've found the same thing Lynn - even the tiny R. rechingeri that I got in a trade late last summer and it overwintered in a tiny pot is fine. Tough little beautiful plants! Can't wait to see if my R. sempervivoides and R. rosulata come up - second try on the first, brand new attempt on the second.

Jacki, do you have a photo of your R. rechingeri?
Here is what Mountain Crest Gardens sent me last year as R. rechingeri. It looks like some kind of sedum to me. Very prolific grower, haven't seen it in bloom yet.

That looks more like Sedum oreganum! Oh boy. I got Sedum dasyphyllum labeled as something else from Beaver Creek, and boy, was I disappointed. Funnily enough, they never responded to any of my emails about it...I can't imagine doing business that way.

My wish (if I ever run across a Genii) is to have some very knowledgeable person who can come and tour my garden and tell me all the names of mis-labeled plants. What bliss!

How sweet those photos are Jacki. That is what I was expecting mine to look like, imagine my surprise when I opened the box. The photo on the site looked like your photo above. When I called they said they sent the correct plant, I even sent a photo of the plant (5 of them) I received from them. When they said they changed the photo to what I got I went and looked. Sure enough they had changed the photo to the plant I received. I then sent email with links showing what rechingeri was supposed to look like. They ended up taking that plant off their site never to return. Wonder how many of those they sold. All the other plants I got from them were correctly identified. But I have no rechingeri. : )

I think some of them look very similar and can be difficult to ID to a novice, which I am. : )

If these all come I will be putting them in separate beds and keeping a good tag system.

They should have refunded you or sent a different plant of your choice. Glad you kept after them to get the problem fixed.

I called as soon as I opened the box and realized they didn't send Gold Bug. She didn't know why he subbed it. She was very very helpful. And she told me to just keep the Nobel. I guess it's their policy to sub if you don't send a message not to sub. SMG does the same unless you tell them not to sub.

I was just very impressed with how kind and helpful she was. That means a lot to me.

I did not have that experience with another nursery I ordered from, of a incorrectly identified plant (not even of the same species, not even close) they sent me. When they realized what they were offering was not correct they just pulled it off their site because they didn't know what it was. No refund or anything. That wasn't a very good experience.

I never sub anything without correct identification, or checking first with the customer - I never send the wrong tag with the plant that's subbed! That's so wrong, on so many levels. I won't be ordering from a nursery that does that. Most people don't mind getting something else, as long as they know in advance.

Is the Rosularia chrysantha kind of on the fuzzy side?
And the Rosularia rechingeri more or less smooth leaved?

Here is the one sold to me as Rosularia platyphlla. It looks just like your rechingeri.

You should probably wait until they bloom before assuming a mis-identification. You may find the flowers are totally different.
