I never get plants from ebay unless I know the grower involved. One of the things that I see a lot are seeds for tissue culture plants being sold. They know these will not come true but still sell them and it looks like they sell a lot.

While searching the Ebay sempervivum sales I find that even some of the semp sellers that have been around for a long time have incorrect plants, according to their photos.

What worries me most about this thread is that I have to wonder if the seller really does have any of the semps he is selling. My guess is he is just sending the common green house leeks and getting a good price for them.

I'm an attorney (retired), have taught law for a number of years and several years ago wrote a series of articles on copyright law for the quilting community. So, credentials established. You need to report these events immediately to Ebay or whoever else. This woman has most likely done this before and will start up again as soon as the current kerfuffle is overwith. Copyright infringement is an act of theft. Selling ANYTHING based upon a picture of someone else's product is an act of fraud on the consumer. If those pictures still contain the ATP copyright with the actual photographers names on them it could come back on you and ATP, if anybody spent enough money to make it worthwhile. I would advise NOT being nice about this, especially after receiving the "chill ..... out" messages. Her sob story is most likely completely false - she's probably in her 20s. Yeah, call me cynical, or experienced, or realistic - take your pick. Please report every instance of this theft as soon as it occurs, or as soon as you find out about it and don't try to be nice to someone who is a thief and a fraud. The lecture is over, you may now return to your regularly scheduled discussion.

I saw photos of her, and she is older. But that does not excuse her behavior.

Carol thank you so much for your advice. I think it is to late for us to do anything this time, the photos have all been removed. However she is still showing some other photos that are not hers, but there doesn't appear to be a copyright on the photos. Some are from nurseries, I recognize them, others are just not the correct photo for the plant she is selling.

I'm pretty sure she'll be back. And thanks for all the thumbs. I don't like breaking into professional mode, but some subjects just call to me too much not to.
