Dear Lilyphiles, this lily was sold to me as regale but it exhibits some unusual characteristics, especially upright, candelabra type blooms. Any thoughts as to whether it is regale or something else? Thanks.

It's an upright or up facing regale called Regale Sky. It was commercially available a couple years ago. Similar to a newer one called White Planet. Both may be available currently from The Lily Nook in Canada. Smiling

Lorn, you are a fountain of Lily info. Very much appreciated! Will you be at the NALS show/convention in Chicago next week? I'm planning on attending and would love to make your acquaintance and thank you in person. Thanks again.

Thanks for the compliment, John. I'm still learning! So much of what I've learned about lilies, I've learned right here on this forum from many of the regular members. In a sense, we've all learned a little something from each other over time. I started growing lilies in 1989 so a lot of what I know came from actual growing experience over time rather than book knowledge. My father also grew lilies as a hobby, which probably helped.

As far as the convention goes, I plan to be around at the reception at the hotel on Wed. about 5 PM thru 8 PM. Then, Sunday 9 AM thru 12 PM at the CBG. Thursday is possible. Friday and Saturday are out. Hope to see you. Smiling
