There are numerous forums on the internet that do not allow guests to view user profiles, or at least limit the content of what they can see, for privacy and security reasons. I would be very grateful if we had at least the option of making our profiles private. Smiling

Well, I always figured the best way to keep a profile private is to simply leave all the fields blank.

The only information of a personal nature is the info that you entered. If you feel that it is a security risk, simple delete the information.

I really love to see a first name and growing zone for members. Anything else is a bonus in getting to know a member.

We do have the option to make our profiles private. Whatever we post is all that anyone will see. I myself use a fake first name, a real growing zone and a general location (as I do not actually live in the city of Savannah proper but very close by).
That's enough to get good answers to gardening questions.

By the way...there are other ways for people to learn your location. When you post photos most people are savvy enough to look for the metadata which often includes GPS. It would be smart to delete the information before posting the photos if one is concerned about privacy. (I just learned that recently.)

Thanks, Dave! That's why I am masquerading as J.S. Bach. Hilarious! This was just a suggestion... no biggie if you don't want to do so... Smiling
