Interesting that the petal anomaly extends to the stigmas (the yellow things) also. Makes me wonder if the leaves are more narrow or otherwise oddly shaped.

Hi Rick,

You are very observant about those stigmas. You would make a good amateur zinnia breeder. Your interest in the leaf formation is also quite valid. The plant formation, and that includes leaf forms, is an important breeding goal for me. For example, check out the long, slim leaves on these indoor zinnias from previous years.
