Thank you for the great instructions. I planted seeds I received from Cindy here in one of the forums and planted them according to your directions after coordinating with the Farmer's Almanac over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Now the 10 varieties I've planted are sprouting with only one or two that haven't germinated. I'll start more when these are repotted.

Thank you again! Thank You!

You are very welcome!

So glad to hear that you have had very good success using my method.

Sometimes it takes some seeds as long as 3-4 months to germinate. And some never do for various reasons. It sounds like you had high results with the seeds that you were able to germinate! Congrats! Enjoy your seedlings and I hope they produce some beautiful blooms for you in the near future! Thumbs up

I have some daylilies that were my grandfathers and sort of been passed down. Us 3 girls each got a plant when our mom sold the house. Anyway, I have my first seed pod in this the 3rd year I have had the daylilies. Do I wait for it to brown on the plant or break it off now and bring it inside to brown before "planting" for the winter? I really want to keep these going AND get more ! : )
Thank you most kindly.

Wait until the seed pod turns brown and starts to open. If you try to harvest sooner, they may not ripen enough to be viable.

Good luck. You can plant out in Spring or Summer to get germination. Or start them under lights during the Fall/Winter months.
